very sad to note that the TN Govt has ordered closure of Sterlite. Please note the following: - 66% population below 35 years. Every second youth is unemployed. Onluy Industries can provide jobs in volumes Every state govt is eager to sign MoUs but does'nt provide adequate support/ infrastructure to the Industry. Can Industries be constructed in Air ? It needs, land, water, power, etc. the State does not even provide support to vacate the Govt land purchased by them from the State Govt. All local political, self-proclaimed leaders, goons, social activists, create multiple hurdles for the industry for their pound of flesh. that is why with the exception of Gujarat, no MNCs are willing to invest in India If an Industry fails to comply with the environmental norms, then it may be fined or warned but closure means rendering 30,000 direct/ indirect persons jobless. Sadly, even the media makes out the industry to be a villain ...WE sincerely need a Govt which is capable of taking harsh decisions and not populist decisions.
