What next?

They have closed and sealed Sterlite Industries alright? What next?We need plenty of copper for our industries.Where will it come from? 5000 people have lost their job. In future which Country will venture to start an Industry in India? What will happen to 'Make in India' programme. How will our youth get new jobs in future? Everything we do has long standing repercussions? Every human being alive is a massive polluter. What do we do with that?We have to find sensible solutions for our problems. Closure is not a solution.

M/s Vedanta's copper plant at Tuticorin.
by MangeswaraSastryB on May 29, 2018 04:22 PM

Every news report says that the agitation has been against the expansion of the plant by way of Phase-II. Now the govt of Tamil Nadu claims to have decided to cancel the allottment of land for Phase-II. Does it mean that the original plant by way of Phase-I will continue its normal business? If that is the case, why is the original plant deemed harmless but not its expanded version? Can anybody throw some light on this.

These Industrialist SOBs should also assess which Govt. is pro-Inds. and which is politically troublesome. Take Mamata how she ensured Nano closure, take Jagan Mohan Reddy how he agitaes and incites against various Industries in AP while he has no stake in AP, BUT ONLY IN TELANGANA AND KARNATAKA. YSR allowed mineral mining under QPQ but no Industry in AP (COMBINED STATE).Naidu can try for Sterlite without any employee from TN and with tranparency reg. mineral, pollution, power, shipping etc. as Vedanta is also equally cunning.
