Why do you hide congress?? Vedanta gave donations to both BJP and congress and was the highest contributor to both the parties at that time..making congress escape chamche ? -:)
bottling plant came up at Plachimada in Kerala, in the midst of a village.
The villagers were happy that the land value in their village went up.
But, soon enough, they found that their wells, which had always been perennial with crystal clear water, were getting depleted.
They found out immediately that it was the Coca cola plant that was sucking up all the water for its multi stage filtration process and that it was dumping a small fraction of it back in the ground as filtrate (mineral and solid heavy water that was useless even for agriculture).
When the villagers demanded that Coca cola should either switch to alternate sources of water or make arrangements to supply them equally good water in adequate measure, the company chose to turn a deaf ear. Coca Cola was certain that it would get away with it as it routinely did with its plants elsewhere in India.
What Coca cola certainly did not bargain for was the way commoners in that non descript village responded !
They first sat in dharna at the gates of the plant and then approached the Kerala state pollution control board for redress. When the KSPCB responded like the TNSPCB has always done to residents around the Sterlite plant in Tamil Nadu, the villagers of Plachimada barged into the office of the DEE (district environmental engineer), hung a garland of slippers around his neck, doused his head in a bucket of coca cola and arranged for TV cameramen to record and broadcast all of it !
Following this, the save Plachimada campaign became a state wide movement and pressure mounted from numerous quarters on the state govt to revoke the Pollution clearance for the plant. The Kerala state govt finally acquiesced and Coca Cola picked themselves up lock, stock and barrel and left the state !
Within a couple of months after Coca Cola was driven out, the villagers of Plachimada got back the old water levels in their wells !

Man That is Kerala, This is Tamilnadu, here money only is important. They already shot down the leaders who organised these protests and so in a few days these protests will go off and sterplite will continue its productions. Our politicians are boot lickers of Corporates. They have already painted this protest with religious and caste dimensions. Except politicians, corporates, sarkari babus all others are just slaves in this country.

NGOs & Churchs longtime instigating people to stall any developement programme in the South. So that they can throw the job less poor people freebies & convert them.
This is their Agenda in India. Sonia Gandhi & Congess is supporting in the name of secular movement.

What about the Hinddus who are also protesting? Whenever people protest for their cause, the govt immediately plants these type of theories to shut their voices.

If no or little fault due to owners, Vedanta, AP without Industries may seek transfer of the unit LSB to any port town in AP (Specially back-ward) with employees exclusively from AP except top 10-20.

you are most welcome to take the industry to your state .you are inviting psoriasis and cancer which has afflicted many in and around tuticorin.the same vedanta was shunned away by maharashtra and goa.

If any State wants this Industry it can take it.There may be locales in such states suitable for this with thinner population or wider space,After all, Tamilnadu and Kerala were not given as many Public Sector industries in early 1960 as were given to Bangalore or to the then capital of A.P.Most of the industry allotment would present the central Govt. as against the interests of Industrial development Tamilnadu.Tamilnadu got one BHEL ,Kerala one HMT .Other two southern states had IDPL,HMT,PRAGA,HAL,BEL, BHEL,BEML ,BPVL.R.PONNAMBALAM
...Modi should value each Indian. Care for the persons dying. Instead, Modi is a careless man. No feeling for the struggle of the peoples and their deaths...

This factory was opened by the pressure received from secular congress government and secular DMK period. Both were present in centre and state. why modi here. you are messaging like Pappu

Do you still believe that this Government can established the Factory? If Factory was opened by previous Government and firing takes place after four years, still congress will be blamed ? Shame you Chadu....
