Few years back, i was speaking to an army major travelling with me in Rajdhani express who served in kashmir for 3 years . He made one interesting revelation which shocked every one listening to him which no media has ever spoken... He mentioned that Militancy in Kashmir is an industry funded and fuelled by pakistanis and intellect kashmiris who are incidentally in various noble professions like teaching, doctorship, Art,media and maintained by the local politicians, police and media guys as it is a great source of income for many of them.. At ground there is a tacit understanding among every one on the share on the funds, which area to target and not to , where to make noise and when .. every thing is set. He also asked ever heard any militant attack in the push localities in Sri nagar where politicians and top officials reside ? For agents in pakistan , this is also a great business as they get lots of money from Indonesia, Saudi, UAE and so on.. Ultimately only the miliatry and poor people of kashmir who suffer the maximum from this conflict. He also cited one example where by his unit ambushed and nabbed two militants going in a two wheeler with guns in Bij behara town and next day it was reported that they were let go by the local police once it was known that one of them is a relative of an influential law maker of the state..
