when Indians so abroad there language stays with them tens of generations, multiple languages coexist. so it seems it is the majoritarianism that kills the ability to communicate and receive.

Ban English as first Language in schools ; English to be relegated to Second language status.
This only can save the 780 languages in India

Why? makes no sense.
While it makes sense to protect these languages for cultural reasons, none of these languages offer economic advantages nearly as much as English. part of the reason why they are in extinct state.

Let us have only the mother Tongue and English. The need of English is not because we love it.It is the language of science and in international interactions it dominates.Because of Macaulay it had become the linking language of India and so the de facto official language with the constitution of india written in it .Relegate English today means relegate India ,Baburstan of Hindustan comprising Avadh,Magadh,Kanoj ,Pataliputra alone is no longer the only span of India. That said always people must be encouraged in every way to use their mother tongue R.Ponnambalam

.At the level of colloquial language that is spoken spontaneously or is heard in Bollywood movies Hindi and Urdu are virtually the identical language.Written in Devanagi script one spoken language is called Hindi, when written in Nastaliq script it is called Urdu.IF so Tulu can adopt any script they like.R.Ponnambalam

Rediff You are very averse to display the truth .I came to know of the relation between Hindi and Urdu from reading this gentleman's article. Why are you against his learned opinion ."At the level of colloquial language that is spoken spontaneously or is heard in Bollywood movies Hindi and Urdu are virtually the identical language.Written in Devanagi script one spoken language is called Hindi, when written in Nastaliq script it is called Urdu.Dr.A.J .Khan calls it artificial divide writing that Hindi and Urdu are on language with two separate scripts and two separate names,Hindi when written in Devnagri and Urdu when written in Arabic.
I( Dr.A.J .Khan )am a Urdu speaker if I am to generalize generally basically there are two levels of both Hindi and Urdu that is formal and informal. The informal versions of the languages are so similar that they can really be called dialects of the same language, usually referred to as Hindustani"You quote Mahatma Gandhi and say Speak Truth Display truth et.But you don't do it R.Ponnambalam
