JInnah's portrait

The arguments don't make sense. JInnah was utterly opposed to all hues of our freedom stalwarts. As such he was a maverick and even if he hadn't created Pakistan, there is nothing in his career that makes him a national or liked figure. AMU must move with the times and take down the portrait.

Jinnah was a member of Indian National Congress and fought for independence alongwith "our freedom stalwarts". He delivered a memorable speech in reply to the British apprehension that the country was not ready for self rule and would fall apart. He, in essence, said that it is not the business of the British to worry about our capacity to self rule, they must pack up and go. If he left Congress and founded the Muslim League, the blame is to be shared by Congress too, who were too rigid.
