THE PROBLEM WITH THE BJP IS THAT BECAUSE HIS NAME IS JOSEPH, OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN PROMOTED IF HIS NAME WAS A MISHRA OR YOGESH ETC
This collegium system was not as per the constitution or by an act of parliament. It was a collective decision by judges to appoint judges started in 1993. Then what do difference Sc find in Khap Panchayats. Out of the five senior judges forming part of the collegium four had come out open to public against the difference in the SC roaster and other problem. Now how can a common man expect impartial judgment from people selected by such system which itself is in a shaky ground. Soon we should have a proper system of selection of judges in line with the Administrative or police selections. Even if political interference may come at least some persons would be service minded.

You are 100% correct. It is totally unconstitutional. It has no place here. The recommendations must start from district level.

The decision to defer the elevation of the judge was decided by a bench inclusive of the 4 disgruntled judges that opposition is so fond of and almost thought BJP goose is cooked.
Had the SC decided the issue exparte, then these SAVE THE DEMOCRACY freaks would have come into streets with their idiotic placards.
Interference into the affairs of Supreme Court was started by Mrs. Indira Gandhi. At that time, none protested. One of the Supreme Court Justices was rewarded with lucrative posts by Mrs Gandhi as he favoured as alleged. During the UPA regime it was being alleged that verdicts were given as per the directive by the Govt/powerful Minister. So, UPA was not at all bothered to carry out scams. Now it is being projected that SC is sold out to Government which is nothing but an allegation.
