Sir,
I used to read your columns in The STATESMAN in 1974-75.I expect the right to dissent from you .I wrote ;Rediff deleted.I wrote again stating that I have great respect for this writer. He would allow the right of dissent to his readers. But alas! Rediff is as biased as ever, hiding facts.I request that you read it;if anything is offensive teach us.You will be defintely elder to me.So I dare write so .R.PONNAMBALAM

Aquaism in India
by on Mar 21, 2018 06:55 AM

Food habits of any place depend on its ecology,"---- without dwelling on the link with politics”.Food habits depend on Financial status.Non vegetarian food costs almost 10 times more than vegetarian food.Every one knows that animal protein is a need for health.People who can afford non vegetarian . go fo it.The rest live without that.Write ups that show vegetarianism is BJP,basic- Indian care for cows for milk ,may be with some religious connotation, is BJP are all biased congress league propaganda. Vegetarianism , care for cow etc is age old in India. The poorest 30 percent of Indians , have just 1.4 percent of the total wealth while the top 10 percent controlled about 74 percent of it as was spoken in9th National Conference of the Indian Association of Lawyers. With 74% wealth in the hands of 10%people , they can afford nonvegetarianism always. The rest shall remain content with aquaism drinking only waterR.PONNAMBALAM

non vegetarian, food in almost every single restaurant and assuredly in a large proportion of private homes, is prepared and handled un-hygienically in India !

And this is especially true in north India, one of the most backward regions in the entire world !

"in north India, one of the most backward regions in the entire world"North India is RICH, VERY RICH The spread of land and rivers like The Ganges Yamuna assure food!Almost everybody would have some 4 biggha of land .The politics of the state has done gross injustice to this state.Compare the Electricity production in the state with other states.Villages suffer ;no electricity.Towns are roaring;the Rich do their marketing in Europe, learn English. The overall population is kept away from the benefits of Education in English;social exploitation is more. One man spoke in Meerut in 18th Centuary "We made this country our slave and obedient".They remain obedient to Landlordism even now.The Rich think that they are India like that Indra is India. No C.M of any state would opt to write a letter to fellow C.M. in another state in any language other than English but ---.That is the mental make up .The States development is the need of the hour.It is not the people's fault R.PONNAMBALAM

Despite her high social stature, author seems to be living in some dream world.
Most municipalities have rules that slaughter should not be carried out in public view, and products of slaughter should not be displayed publically.
They don't enforce it, for fear of losing pseudo-minorities' (with a ruler syndrome) votes.
Only BJP has the integrity to enforce existing laws.
AB Vajpayee was a fish eater. Many RSS members/supporters are non vegetarians.
Fake sociologists should not find a place on rediff.

pseudo-minorities' (with a ruler syndrome.Minorites are the Zionists. There are seven religious faiths. The word minority is used to expolit the benefits that must go to zionists if at all. That is as well wrong for this is a country of equality. BJP is still not coming out of it's North Indian orientataion. The P.M. addresses meetings in South India in the language spoken in Islamabad. He should do well to appreciate that Hindi and Urdu are one and the same language as for as languages go but are written in different scripts. As spoken it is one and the same languageof Mughal court orientation R.Ponnambalam
