We have healthy relations with most of our neigbours while china has disputes with most of them cos our intention is not to snatch anything from small countries...even we help them at times...but china help them to capture them..threat them to command them.

China's Defence Budget
by Vijay Shivdasani on Mar 14, 2018 10:57 PM

There is no doubt that China has ambitious plans for its military. India has to take serious note of their intentions.
By pointing to our problems--such as poor farmers, polluted lands and waters, corruption is a negative way of looking at things. let us look positive--at our strengths--political stability, a brilliant space programme, our nuclear program, investments in building shipyards & warships, missiles and other military systems.
With better performance in the economic field we can catch up what we have failed to do in the last 70 years by foolish unrealistic policies.
Yes we have to strengthen our resolve, our soldiers sailors and airmen should be the best trained in the world after all we have excellent training establishments. Man for man we should be equivalent to two of theirs--the chinese for example have little exposure to blue sea operations or to naval aviation while we have more than 5 decades of it! The learning curve may move high quickly but nevertheless our experience and training must be put to best use.

China's defence budget=$175 bn. India's=$46 bn
by susarla suryaprakasam on Mar 14, 2018 07:07 PM

China is world economicpower, and stronger than USA in all aspects. Qhy compare that with a backward, overpopulated (3 times China in density), congested (China is 3 times larger than India area-wise); and average IQ of Chinese is more than 5 times India. What comparison. Size of Chinese defence industry is 10 times that of India with India totally depending on foreign procurement. 'Make in india' is a bogus slogan.

We must not foolishly compare budgets like to like. China is five times as powerful economically than India , so we should not spend precious resources in matching them in arms. Let's build up our local manufacturing capability and hence add to our GDP with effective nuclear subs, missiles, artillery guns and smart weapons like the Brahmos. But let us continue dialog with Pak and China to resolve differences
