Prof Basu of Singapore in a recent forum attended by Rahul Gandhi has somehow tried to malign the Nehru-Gandhi family by saying that India’s growth was poor under the Gandhi family , but became very good the moment “others” took power. Facts and figures from the World Bank from 1961 say otherwise and show no link between family rule and GDP. Here are the global GDP figures ( %) from the World Bank website with India’s figures given in brackets: 1961- 4.33 ( 3.7). 1967 – 4.4 ( 7.8) 1971 – 4.3 ( 1.64) 1975 - 0.773 ( 7.15) 1982 – 0.357 ( 3.47) 1991 1.43 ( 1.06) It can be seen that out of six years given, India GDP growth was better than world average in 3 years , so the picture given by the Professor is wrong. In fact there were many years when the global GDP was dismal and India was doing well, even when the “family” was ruling. It is obvious that this Professor is not driven by facts but by some deep seated animus against the Nehru family.
Very apt reply was given by Mr Rahul Gandhi looking into the ground reality. If some one says that India has not progressed, they are far from truth and biased. There should be some basis to evaluate the gradual progress of our country and compare with so called grand leap within last 4 years. You call it progress, when the country is having peaceful and sense of cohesive atmosphere for different cultures and religions to live and strive.
1. India is a super power 2. Congress did nothing in the last 70 years...
1. sushma says pakistan gave only violence and terrorists...india gave doctors engineers scientists... 2. Modi says nothing happened in the last 70 years...
prove logically whether 1 and 2 can be true at one and the same time...

If we see for the past four years, nothing has done by NPA for helping middle class or weaker sections, except raising Bonus limit for helping the industrial employees, the same was scissored through GST 18% slab covering essential commodities as well as health care products. There are more false promises when compared to earlier UPA Govt. Now the people are switching off or listening music during Mankey Both speeches by PM. Average citizens lost their hope after their last budget session.

but you never know...the fools may vote NDA to power again and in 2014 we will vote in our underwears and banians...
rahul whipped the questioner ...the questioner just ran away...the questioner had no basis on which he made those claims..he just refuses to do that...he asks a baseless question and wants rahul to agree with it...rahul gandh shouwed the questioner his place and his ignorance...
from a below average intelligence person and a scam ridden party. Give us one instance when Raga has not insulted the PM in foreign media. Actually, Indian constitution should put a ban on Raga to speak against the government of India and particularly the prime minister of India on foreign lands and foreign media. And the congress is praising this mandbudhi Raga for handling it gracefully. This is you call grace by insulting your PM in-front of foreign media in a foreign land? Can this Raga on in his own capacity win a debate with Namo or anyone from BJP? He should realize that he got the presidentship of this grand old party not because of his credentials but because of his family roots.

I think he is wasting his money, not public money where as Modiji is wasting public money without any ROI?
