Reviving congress is next to impossible if RG is to be PM
by rajesh venkatraman on Mar 09, 2018 07:26 PM

The congress can hope to get itself revived if it is to project any other youngster as their PM candidate. IF Rahul is projected chances are they may lose may seats compared to what they have today. Also most of the seniors are interested in bringing their own kin into the party or the dynasty rule in their constituency, instead of giving it to party workers who toiled for the party for long. The party is roping in many people from other party and are solely dependent on regional parties in many states which will damage them in the long run as the partners for sure will start blackmailing them and it will pave way for corruption especially in the northern states like Bihar / UP.
Also the caste equations will haunt them as they are promising quotas for reservation without any care for the SC order of 50% max. Also the minority appeasement is way to much and it will hit them hard by the very same people who will try to have upper hand in the say of the govt functioning.

Sonia Gandhi opens up
by Kanu Mukerji on Mar 09, 2018 07:18 PM  | Hide replies

Let's not be harsh on Sonia Gandhi. Her responses, unlike her son's, are quite mature and measured. We all know BJP is soon losing allies. The common man feels cheated after the demonetisation and Aadhaar experiences. Senior BJP leaders also air or reflect their disillusionment with the dogmatic way in which top leadership is functioning. True, the Congress has horrible history. But India will soon be alternating between Congress & BJP as Tamil Nadu alternates between DMK & ADMK or US alternates between Republicans and Democrats. There is very little time for BJP to refurbish its tarnished image. General Elections are a totally different ball game from some small regional elections that BJP has recently won. A third alternative is out of question, although Regional parties will play a role in formation of coalition government. Interesting days ahead!

Sonia does not matter anymore for congress. Rahul has to show maturity and start behaving like the president of a national party instead of making empty noises. We still believe he is not cut out for the job. The senior leaders who are disillusioned are not popular leaders. Opposition unity under Rahul is doubtful since he does not command the same respect .

During last parliament election, Congress face the worst ever poll debacle in their political history under the leadership of Vice President Rahul Gandhi. Can RahulGandhi as a President of the party can show better result in 2019 ? May be results in 2019may be worse than 2014.

Not going to let BJP win: Sonia on next Lok Sabha polls
by susarla suryaprakasam on Mar 09, 2018 07:06 PM

Possible if only you come back, RG is not a fit or charismatic candidate. Besides, you may have to compromise with 29 parties, each having 2-3 seats but putting up pressure of 20-30 MPs. Please join with only small but powerful local parties rather than those useless fringe parties like communists.
