Nice dream, Mitali Saran! But it will always be a dream. You need to understand that August 15 is celebrated as "Independence" day and not "Freedom" day. Only the skin colour of the ruling class has changed, from white to brown. The approach towards the common folk has only worsened.
We need to think deeply about the significance of Mahatma Gandhi's Dandi march and the salt satyagraha. That symbolises the struggle for real freedom, namely Economic Freedom. Sadly, we are yet to get that. What we have is only the "freedom" to cast a vote every few years so that brown sahibs, with the aid of Babudom (constituted by the British to rule over a rebellious population) and using the straitjacket rules in IPC and CrPC (again, authored by the white man) may continue to rule us as subjects, not as citizens.
Of the three freedoms, we lack the most important ones, Economic freedom and Social freedom. What we apparently have is only the near-useless Political freedom.
So, let us continue celebrating Independence while ignoring Freedom conveniently.
Instead of discussing these unproductive topic, the media and authors should discuss how better to restructure and rebuild India, in a way better than Modi... That would be a tribute the freedom fighters..

The nation is not confused. We are on the right track; only economy has to improve swiftly. Why this new journalist is creating a fuss when none exists. Doesn't want a dynamic nation on move?

And there lies the problem. We have the totally useless "freedom" of political choices. We do not have real freedoms, which are, 1) Economic freedom and 2) Social freedom.
