current govt apathy and army atrocities are responsible for kashmiri citizens plight....they are trying to turn kashmir into afghanistan...during 2012 congress mms time 14 lakh tourists visited kashmir...in 2016 the number of tourists has dropped to 4.5 lakh tourists...govt has no love for muslim citizens and so carrying out their supposedly nationalist drive against terrorists...but how come the situation worsened during modi bjp rule...because of faulty policies...no brain plans...

Kashmir problem did not start with Modi as the PM. Blaming the present government for every ill plaguing India has become a fashion. Kashmiris especially those in the Valley deserve to be treated as enemies of the state and deserve to be treated as such.

Have we seen anything like Kashmir issue anywhere else in the world? Nowhere does it exist. India has created artice 370 which is highly biased against itself.India has been its own worst enemy.

Students, parents and teachers must understand that in Kashmir, everything including judicial system is handled by Kashmiri only, they enjoy maximum freedom, if separatists or Pro PAK people are not contesting election to gain power rather using stone throwers or guns, they are harming first Kashmiris only, later on to anyone else.
Security forces intervenes only when they are compelled else Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris only.

Study first

The first priority of the students anywhere in the world is STUDY. The world is changing at very fast pace. If you do not connect with it, you will be left behind and frustrated. This is what happening in the VALLEY. The militants are successful in couple of years to close the schools, yes blame it to some govt decisions. Empty mind is the devils home. So instead of thinking about the study they are doing something else which is not expected from the students and got entangled in it. Once this process starts, it is bit difficult to stop it. It is like a wild fire, you need lot of efforts from all sides to stop the fire. You miss one side and it goes out of control again. This is what is happening. Local political parties are not ready to douse the fire completely fearing the backlash from the people who are spreading it and influencing the people. Central parties are not fully in control to take decision on their own. The democracy is so diluted in JnK by old governments by adding so many loopholes through amendments that now it is in a mess and no one is ready to touch this mess. Finally the sufferers are JnK people. So it is up to the people to think and do what is needed in the life. Separation from India is not possible anymore. So staying within India they need to workout the solution, and need to forget the wounds and move forwards.

Next big boom is travel and tourism industry for 2/3 decades. JnK is the heaven on the earth. If they mend there ways, they will be the top of the chart in fastest growing state in India. There is huge potential, and needed to trap. Even in this worst situation, they are doing enough business to survive. Imagine if they do it at the full potential, what will happen.

Kashmir - part of INdia or not?
by Lekshminarayanan on Jun 28, 2018 08:17 PM

"I have many friends in INdia..." Is Kashmir not part of India?
I think it is high time the government of India decide if they want to have a Kashmir problem or not for their survival. If you want to solve it, allow the Pandits to go back provide them security. Abolish 370, industrialize the state and treat it like rest of India. Then they can have "many" more "friends in India".
