I wonder for how long this plastic ban will survive. There are very few people who support plastic ban knowing the dangers of it. Most of the other are looking for only convenience, and not ready to support this really good initiative.

On Government side as well, there are many issues. Any such ban is bound to fail, since there must be some alternative for such a big issue. This time as well, it is not worked out properly, no alternative is created and implemented. It left to the people to manage themselves. However the big shot companies are completely exempted from this ban, since there is no any alternative for the plastic in use currently. This is the dual standard used by the govt.

Need more through research and then the implementation will work. Otherwise it is bound to fail completely and after few month everything will be back to normal. Actually no one is ready to take tough stand with proper alternatives provided. This is the sole reason for the failure.

Some 10/20 years back, bread, biscuits are packaged in Paper and sometimes with very thin layer of plastic used. It worked to for almost many decades without problem. But this all depends upon the cost of packaging. Plastic is dirt cheap as compared to packaging created from paper and other source. Second it is radially available in any thickness, color or any combination.
