will not be equivalent to even 5 trees contribution to the environment. Delhi environment is full of dust choking humans and causing breathing problems to old and infants .Please be merciful to Delhi. Even Delhi Govt. collecting Pollution cess but never used those thousands of Crores collected in the name of Pollution. Take cue from Shanghai( China ) and act to reduce dust pollution by using Giant Air Purifiers.

India is a dusty country, your suggestion not possible, 12000 plants may not be even 1% of total plants Delhi has. Population is growing, as such cutting of trees and further trees - no one will be in a position to stop, only thing we can do to put more and more plants on the land wherever available.

Can any one imagine eliminating 1% of population of Delhi for any reason ? if not then why trees should be eliminated, remember one tree of Peepal, Bargad( Banian) etc. worth more than one person in terms of wealth we are receiving in terms of life sustaining gases and other benefits.And it helps in balancing environment too.
No control or policy on unwanted population, trees will have to cut, and wherever place is available, new trees are to be planted. We should see practical aspect of population explosion and need of land, making hue and cry for cutting tree will not solve problem. Rather at many places, trees are nuisance which create obstacles while passing through the passages etc., Such terror of taking action on cutting trees is also not good. Rather we should bow that on each cut of tree, we will plant 5 trees wherever land is available, may be a small piece of land.
