...Prime Minister Narendra Modi must give away Kashmir to Pakistan, Arunachal Pradesh, our entire North-East and Ladakh to China and let this Hindu nation be overrun by Islamic jihad, so that he can earn this writer's certificate for being a "bold, path-breaking and game-changing" leader. B.S. Raghavan is an IAS; let him not venture into the realm of foreign policy, of which his understanding is do demonstrably shallow. North Korea with which Trump is dealing, is equal to China (with which Modi is dealing), according to this writer. This writer is more evidence of why the IAS has been a millstone around the country's neck for decades and needs to be dismantled ASAP. Good that PM Modi, by introducing lateral entry to the administration, has begun the process.
Its true PM Modi has got absolute majority in Lok Sabha but lacks in Rajya Sabha. To frame any rule applicable in India both the house must pass that bill. Unfortunately all opponent politicians resisted to do good works by Modi as they were under fear to loose their identity. India is divided in terms of religion, cast, language etc and this division helps previous government to run and loot the country. Most of the opponent leaders are in favour of divide and rule policy. Modi wants united India, I don't know how he can build and work. Indian media is also immature as they never highlight the "need of the country". So, I disagree to your comments "he (MODI) sadly drifted, squandered away his time and sorely missed the bus".

Because of blunders committed by Dynesty PMs, India has to suffer today.... as there is no appeasement n many have lost power n importance , corrupt, lethargic, etc they find faults with Modiji, BJP, RSS, Yogiji... if they look behind they will find which PM has defended corruption, violated constitution, misused Judiciary...Which had caused damage to India, who was liar...(Garibi Hatao) etc....

You are spot on Sunil. India has never seen a liar like Modi who has even lied to Parliament & to the nation at large. He is a thugPM who pretends his life is under siege from Maoists which is nothing but a pack of lies again. His Gujarat model is a total hoax which he laid upon an unsuspecting nation. Deserves to be kicked in those shrivelled old bolls of his.
Trump is setting all the wrong precedents. He believes in short term gains. His lack of principles is what will drive the world to the brink of destruction. If other countries or dictators believe that if they can first get their hands on a nuclear bomb then they can negotiate by offering a denuclearization lollipop then imagine what can happen to the world?

Trump is better, bold, intelligent than Obama...Trump is taking steps in the interest of his own country....many countries and people have taken undue advantage of liberalisation policy of US.....
So easy to say all this. But Nixon or Trump have not and are not facing even 1/10th the opposition that Modi is facing with almost all the corrupt ones ganged up against him. Being a former IAS the author should know better about the complexities of all the issues raised by him
