Before saying anything, we should look at his age. He must be 80-85 yrs. He has grown up and lived his entire life on these superstitions. We should not hate him but pity him and ignore or laugh away his remarks.

Magnanimity in such cases is somewhat misplaced. The mango-male child is misleading, baseless, unscientific and does has some communal tinge. But, one feels relieved that he has not linked it to consumption of gaumay or gaumutra, or some godman formula or even some ayurveda invention. At any rate, such things could also be discouraged.
