Its middle and upper class citizens, bearing the burden of a ton heavy inferiority complex arising from living in a city of filth where 55 % of all residents defecate in the open, are in a perpetual state of denial. They use phrases such as city of gold, city paved with gold, etc to try and hide the reality from themselves !

But all this is useless for a Mumbaikar. What we need is an information system. Anyone leaving at anytime and raining heavily, the first thing on the mind is "Should I leave or no?" What anyone needs is correct information and advice. Local Media has been quite useless in this regard. Before leaving and while in transit, I need specific information like "Trains at Andheri are running late by 20 minutes". Or "Too much rush in trains. Dont leave office yet." Something like that. There is no app or outlet which gives out such info.
Even while in transit, there is no broadcast in trains, in spite of having speakers. Example "Train will not move forward for another 15 minutes". OR "Advisable to get down at Goregaon since there is signal failure at Andheri" Something like that
This is nothing new. When the ruling party is concerned with doing everything on their own what more do you expect. they cannot solve problems of Mumbaikar. Today morning Mr Mahadehwar first citizen of Mumbai was boasting that all the premonsoon work has been completed. So dear mumbaikars please get your sweeming suits ready to go to office and back home. No need to carry your umbrellas and raincoats with you.
