I think, People of India had observed coalition government before in 1977, 1989, 1995 to 1997 , 1997 to 2004(NDA) & 2004 to 2014 (UPA). Best and stable performing govt. was NDA lead by Vajpayee.(1997 to 2004) Unless until, opposition unable to form pre - poll alliance , declare there leadership under whom they wants to lead nation with their clear agenda for the development of the nation, even though they are fighting one on one in most seats just to defeat Modi, will Boom-rang them & may small parties can fall flat forever. So far as the nature of Modi's concern, he is fighting leader & has ability to turn table in the favor of BJP. I am sure he is able to turn election in the presidential format by turning it Modi Vs Rahul and this will help him to get comfortable victory in the next election. Drawback of opposition is one agenda to defeat Modi w/o any agenda & leadership with so many aspire PM candidates (Rahul, Mamta, Mulayam, Mayavati, Pawar,Naidu , MMSING, CHIDAMBARAM, AKANTHONY etc.) If BJP wins as you say below comfortable numbers & to make coalition govt, Modi will not lead NDA govt, as his nature doesn't allow compromising in the policy matters & will give way who is aspire of PM from NDA like Sushma, Rajnath, Jaitley, Shivrajsing Chauhan & may be Nitish ( if other opposition ready to support Nitish as PM for NDA in case of shortfall of BJP numbers). Unfortunately that will not happen. He is a one man army and doing his best. Everything will again go his way in 2019. These bye elections are lessons to him and his party don't be over confident. He is the only person anyone can now think is fit to lead this nation. Rediff is eager for his fall being teh conch of Congress. Sorry folks it won't happen.

Only hoping unity in opposition which is a practically not possible fools enjoying. Pappu is so desperate that he can sacrifice all portfolios to his allies, but for how many days ??? One full term by all opposition is fools dream. Rediff is that fool dreaming in daytime or giving oxygen to the possibility. Wastage of time.

He can sacrifices in Karnataka Assembly and even throw the post of Chief minister to another party? In case, all these coalition put together build the required numbers in parliament, Is he ready to throw away PM post that way? Never ever!!
