The Skewed Concept that Ind economy 27% of world economy in 1700!

There is an English adage: 'Where there are fools (to believe), there are scoundrels (to fool them more).’

A scoundrel said India's GDP was 27% of world's economy in 1700 and fools believe it. Unfortunately, even our Ex PM Mr Man Mohan Singh uttered this statement shows the extent of idiocy even among the educated Indians. Also these idiots unintentionally admit that Mughals (Akbar-Jahangir-Shah Jehan- Aurangzeb) created this great Indian economy during 1550-1700.

To be correct, a pre-industrial primitive economy's size is based on populn—on the number of hands and legs—with other factors weighing little. If there are 1000 people in Country A, then there will be 1000 thatched houses, 1000 bowls, 1000 spears, 1000 cheddis, etc. In 1700, world populn was 50 cr. India’s populn was 14 cr and the Indian economy was 27% and China’s populn was 18 cr and so the economy was 35% of the world economy.

British and French populations were 1 cr each; so each of their economies was 2% of the world economy and so on.

If the Indians (including MMS) shed 10% of their ingrained idiocy, they understand that after 1700 western economies expanded 100s of times due to industrialization, compared to the Indian economy, which too expanded but only by 3 or 4 times.
Indian culture develops idiotic mentality which makes them live in perpetual delusion, imaging unusual the past glories that never exi

pricing of cereals increased by modiji, why not ask manmohan sing
by hukmaraj badala on Jul 27, 2018 01:19 PM  | Hide replies

in every aspect author of this story compares modiji with manmohan singh which is bad practice .manmohan has ruined indian economy . manmohan started waiving loan to farmers firstin 2009 and i. maharashtra & AP. to the tune of 90000 crores. thus it crushes mentality of hard work by farmers . it is passible to divert farmers in many other trades if this loan waiving practice is banned/ stoped. how manmohan singh an be compared who him self was trapped in well of corruption since 2004-14.

It is too early for you to comment who destroyed the economy of this country. Time will tell. But if "it is possible to divert farmers in many other trades" what are you going to eat? FDI

What is the contribution of Agriculture Produce in GDP. I was told it is 16 percent. The percentage voters to total voters is about 60 percent. In 2009 UPA gave 70K crores Loan waiver and got elected in spite of 2008 Mumbai attack. This was a biggest mistake . The farmers must survive without a loan waiver.
One acre of land produces 25 Tonnes of onion and it costs around Rs 50000. They sell at rs 8 to 10. We get at Rs 20/25 per kg. The producer gets 4 times but seller gets more.
We need to import Sugar rather than spend on these sugarcane farmers. France is ready to give sugar from beet at rs 8 per kg. Brazil is ready to give sugar at Rs 5/6 per kg. Most of the fruit farmers - oranges, grapes, mangoes, apple, cherry, all dry fruits are very rich.We are exporting rice. Wheat framers of MP, Punjab, Haryana and Up are well off. Out of the 16 percent contribution to the GDP only about 5 to 6 percent agricultural produce is contributed by non fruits farmers.
Varun Gandhi did study this problem and came to conclusion that farmer suicides are due to medical problems and not Loan. Can Agricultural land have dual use - Agricultural produce at Industrial building Roof top and Industrial production on direct land. Farmer should get rent as well as can produce on Industrial roof top. After all any slab can be designed for 3/5 meters soil load.

Ok but roof top should be concrete slab rather than AC sheets. Not sure of Suicides of farmers. They may be genuine also. I was also told that more than 50 percent are on medical grounds and some are other reasons.

Every party had been doing politics with the two names farmers and dalits. None of the parties were really interested in the development of farmers and the up liftment of dalits. Why we have not developed in 70 years. oneside they spent money for drought and another side they spend money for floods. They all were making people as fools and the people started understanding the same now. Why we need so many political parties. Can any body point out a political party who are really interested in the development of India. So this jimmicks will and would happen always.

by anup n nilawar on Jul 27, 2018 10:56 AM

Even if we thought of helping with direct subsidy, how to do it in reality ?
How to formalise farm labours and farm owners ?and their actual toiling in the farm to provide them assitance whenever needed.

All decision taken by politicians are politics only, were farmers not committing suicide during congress or any other State level govt. time. Population particularly of below poverty line is increasing, how to handle it.
Has anyone analysed how many in urban areas committed suicide due to loan, poverty-never, not required, it does not give any political mileage.
No one is serious to bring national population policy to overcome all such evils, rather create hate spreading against govt.
Regarding recent hike in MSP, Modi deserve all praise, never done at one go, yes may be political game, but giving benefit to farmers.
