Only a pappu mind can make such comments. Outright massacres happened during her rule. All the religious riots that happened all over the country since 1947 to 1984 are examples in which 1000 times more people lost their lives. Maximum lynching happened during Indira gandhi's rule and just after her death in 1984 a massacre happened.

Why is Modi getting credit for ...
by naraen ganapathy on Jul 23, 2018 06:22 AM  | Hide replies

...GST and eradication of benami transactions?
GST was conceived by NDA which BJP fiercely opposed... Both PAN and UID were introduced by NDA which resulted in eradication of benami transactions.
Modi can only be credited with destructive demonetization which caused operational and productive losses over a lakh crore rupees and loss of GDP growth rate resulting in loss of more than 2.5 lakh crore rupees in the first year of demonetization alone.

Done be a pappu and comment with half knowledge. Replay 1 hour speech of Modi in parliament and you will know why Modi must get the credit.

The Courts have closed cases, but this guy is still blabbering about the riots. At the same time, he very conveniently forgets , and never mentions , what caused the riots.

Also demonetization is a net positive for India. All corrupt are and will be caught. Poor will get their due from the state.

UPA looted more than 20 lac crores in scams.. including the bank NPA scam.

with 100% knowledge (!) with blind eye and deaf ears also have impacts - either positive or negative. Incidents/happenings, data, positive/negative, growth/decline to be analysed for assessment.

Rahul Gandhi yet to become a serious politician.
by on Jul 22, 2018 07:52 PM  | Hide replies

Hugging the PM and the wink are the heated debates during the past 2-3 days. Definitely a serious and professional politician might not have done that. It was Rahul Gandhi style of doing it. Probably he might have been demonstrating that he is still a child in front of the PM as far as politics is concerned. Now let us take the lighter side of it. Hugging someone is not an offence and in this case Rahul Gandhi did it in the wrong place and at the wrong time, probably he might not be well aware of the protocol since he is hugging a PM when it was not an occassion in doing so. If we take it in a positive outlook, Rahul was trying to acknowlede to him that even though he was attacking the PM and his government in various issues, there is nothing personal about it and was trying to be apolgetic to a much more senior politician. Even PM modi called him back and to give a shake hand with a smile as if he was telling that he took it in the right spirit. So let us leave it both of them, we are all human beings and some mistakes happen, in case someone feels that it was a serious mistake. Now about the wink, it was a spontaneous childish reaction to those in the ruling front bench who were making fun of him after the hug.

I can understand who is still young and who has matured. Rahul has matured to go up to the PM and give a hug, on the other had the ruling party calls him pappu and other insulting remarks. I could hear from Arun Jadely telling that Rahul has not matured to be the leader of the opposition. I wonder if Arun is matured when he was never given a chance in any crucial decisions. GST, Demo etc. What are they talking about the opposition for ?

A Stormy Interlude
by NG Nileshwar on Jul 22, 2018 11:31 AM

History repeats itself. This is exactly happening even today. Compare the two leaders to find the similarities. All of them remain the same, except that the former was in power and the latter out of it. One was ruling directly, the other through proxy. MMS replaced by RaGa. Degeneration has set in further. MMS & RaGa are just not the same. MMS mature and knowledgeable, RaGa immature and childish and brash. MMS was still RaGa winks.

by VENKATESHPRASAD IYER on Jul 22, 2018 11:10 AM

Eye to India by David Selbourne on the 19th months of the Emergency in India is a very vivid book on the misdeeds of Indira Gandhi government. After she came to power she destroyed all copies of this book including the Shah commission reports. She defended corruption by calling it a global phenomenon. As a college student during the Emergency period, the Emergency left deep and indelible scars on the population then. Her pinnacle of glory was the 1971 war. It was during that period that Field Marshal Sam Maneckshaw stood upto her and dictated the course of the Bangladesh war. Such decisive leadership believes in my way or highway. But then there are people who can stand up to such leadership and tell them what is wrong with them and how things should be done.
