East of West, Modi is the best PM since 1947
by K Kumar on Jul 30, 2018 07:00 PM

Whether you guys in Lutyen's Delhi like or not, for guess what, your rantings have been ignored by the masses, time and time and time again. Haven't you been ranting against this honest, hard-working, incorruptible, effective, popular leader since 2002 - of no effect at all !! SO just retire and enjoy your loot money from those 10 years of disastrous UPA rule. Or perhaps you are too nervous that another term for Modi in 2019 will expose that ill-gotten wealth ?

useless write up from a Modi hater and ignorant fellow
by K Kumar on Jul 30, 2018 06:55 PM  | Hide replies

That is what this author of yours is; suddenly he seems to have become BS / rdf's go to guy on defense / foreign matters. Totally ignorant fellow, no one reads him any more other than die hard corrupt anti-nationals or total ignoramuses. He is in the same league as Mihirsharma, sardesiathepapalagent, barkhakhan, etc.

PM Modi and his policies
by daniel thorat on Jul 30, 2018 02:16 PM

If one impartially examines all the talks, proclamations, actions and results of all Modi has done during last 4 years, one cannot resist the temptation of carefully analyzing his personality. Because of the total LS majority won in 2014, and Modi`s success in removing all rivalry and subduing all senior leaders in party, he captured total executive powers in himself. He used this power to do whatever comes to his mind, any whims and fancies, any actions abroad and at home, as no body could question him. Today, all the hugging and absolutely Quixotic actions like Wuhan, Rwanda, agenda-purposeless summits etc. and very great divisions in society are there for all to see. Total media control and use only for boosting his image is another factor. India still has hope but the opposition parties, must overcome their selfish ambitions, to get that.

People expectations have risen and they think Modi has got a magic wand...Instead of blaming Mody, the approach should be advising him....no point in blabbering about deepness mud when we are able to see the surface out of it...so far we were almost sunk in mud...suggest some ideas how to get out of mud rather than cribbing....

Immediate idea and surefire solution would be to instal other BJP PM. That will reassure the country. We are most certainly heading in the wrong direction, and no amount of eloquent lies would help. Surely, in the vast numbers of skillful thinkers and talkers in the BJP, there should be one good person to lead the nation in this difficult time.

India's foreign policy
by Radhakrishnan on Jul 23, 2018 08:17 AM  | Hide replies

To start from the Nehruvian era, India has had a difficult balancing act with the kind of geopolitical conundrum of the sub-continent. Things got from bad to worse in the first five decades after independence. Thereafter India has had the come out of its self-made straight-jacket, with some positives. It is not one political Party or another, but our collective destiny as a nation that resulted in this.
If Modi's policies have to be viewed in isolation, I daresay that its negatives have been far outweighed by its positives.
Now, if politicians have to have a retirement age, I think it is high time journalists do an introspection. In that case, Sekhar Gupta will be quite high on the list.

Shekhar Gupta is one of the finest journalists and commentators. Although a bit dovetailed, he does make a point. It is a frightening truth that Modi has led this country onto a path of division, intolerance and sharp communal divide. He is so indoctrinated that he cannot agree that the Mughal and British rule of a thousand years need to be forgotten and no enmity should be harbored against Muslims and other minorities. If he does that he would be a good, energetic PM, despite wanting in many other areas.

We have seen person like you before who put Modi`s criticism
roving around Minority(read Muslims)isolation and division of country. The people like you
cannot evaluate the good things
but repeatedly hammering on this subject of non-issue. If any thing like much bombarded intolerance, division in the society happening at this rate it is not new thing in India. It has been happening for long time for some historical reasons` That time no media so called intellectuals & liberals kept silent.
Funnily old Mr Shekhar Gupta is suggesting
formulate foreign policy by- passing the welfare of home
state. All country first see
the welfare of nation`s people
and then formulate foreign policy accordingly. There is no
interest bigger than national
interest. Have you not heard the phrase that in diplomacy there is no permanent relations, but only
permanent interest!

Unfortunately for BJP and the bhakts, all anti Modi material is nothing but pure fact, though greatly understated. To his credit are: Ramdev Baba, Patanjali, 3- 4 big industrialists, Rafale scam, Modi,Mallya, bank loots etc. If the well rewarded CAG were to have been exposed before 2014, perhaps Modi would not have become our PM.

Shekhar Gupta
by P S SHAH on Jul 22, 2018 05:32 PM

This idiot, opportunist Shekhar Gupta is very much depressed, frustrated, jealous as the present government unlike previous government do not give him any undue importance he don’t deserve. Let him write whatever nonsense he want to write. It will have absolutely no effect on the future poll prospects of NDA and Modi.
