wrong and unnecessary analysis.

It is the prerogative of the GOI to have any number of troops which is determined and decided according to the prevailing situation at that particular point of time. Instead, let the press bring out the facts about how many stone pelters are there, how boys are recruited for stone pelting, who is encouraging and instigating, fomenting such elements, who is funding, where so much stones are obtained, what is their motive, How the families of the stone pelters feel about their wards pelting stones and killing and hurting even innocent tourists from other states (recently one young man from Tamilnadu). The journos and press Can suggest ways and write articles to suggest the local population to abstain from stone pelting / supporting militants. They can also highlight how valuable lives of army and central forces drawn from all over the country are lost because of irresponsible activities of stone pelters/militants and the families consisting of children / old parents of martyred jawans / officers suffer for safeguarding the state and that also can be taken as human rights violation and how GOI is pouring the hard earned money of all the taxpayers across the country in trying to bring back the state to normalcy and to take it to the mainstream&develop the state like the way other states are getting developed. The major cause for trouble is irresponsible press/selfish,ill-minded opposition parties who can go to any extent to improve their own interests.Let sanerelements prev

700,000 Armymen in J&K?
by rathi raj on Jul 18, 2018 10:38 AM

Its typical of Indian reporters to publish things without checking out the facts. Regular army is only deployed along the LC with their HQs in the rear at Srinagar, Kupwara, Baramula, Uri, etc. There is hardly any Army presence in the Valley portion of the state other than on the borders.
People get wrong figures since there are numerous civil police forces like BSF, CRPF, ITBP, RR, etc, who wear combat fatigues that are similar to those of regular army. Out of these Rashtriya Rifles (RR) is a para-military force under MHA although fully-manned by Army.
It is hilarious to even think that out of a total of 13.5 lakh army, 7 lakh will only be in the state.

Whats the reason for your article. or you are getting any incentive from pakistan .. Idiotic. Rediff has become more anti Indian content now.
