Thakurs of UP and Bihar
by electronic centre on Jul 16, 2018 01:08 PM  | Hide replies

In end of 5th Century with demise of Skandha Gupta, the last mighty Gupta dynasty emperor, Hun invaders entered India to loot.
But like other invaders they decided to stay here and not to return their poverty torn country. They have driven out most of all ethnic Indians towards east, south east and south side of India from Magadh empire (now UP and Bihar). As these Huns did not practice any religion except loot and killing, they decided to take the existing Indian religion (Hinduism) as their own religion.
Now these Hun descendants have declared themselves as so called upper caste people and rest of the ethnic Indians who could not escaped to other part of India, had been enslaved to work in Hun occupied firm lands. After tolerating thousand years tortures by so called Upper Caste (read Hun descendants), they become so called Dalit (read ethnic Indians).

Caste system, untouchability were there even before 5th century. Birth-based Caste system started at least before 15th century BC. Mahabharata and Ramayana were written around 800 to 1000 BC.

Original Rigveda was having only 6 Mandals (chapters) ( 2nd to 7th Mandal). There was no caste system described in these original Mandals. 1st and 8th to 10th Mandals introduced much later at the age of Purans and first caste system (according to work based and not on birth based) was introduced in these infiltrated Mandals.
Similarly, Ramayana, originally written by Valmiki was having 5 Kandas(chapters). Bal Kanda and Uttar Kanda were introduced much later by some other poets and not by Adi-Kavi Valmiki.

If it was not mentioned in 2 to 6 Mandals does not mean birth-based caste system did not exist. It caste was not based on birth, such differentiation was not necessary. The differentiation itself implies caste was based on birth. Caste is basically connected to the Karma theory which says that people with bad Karma are born into lower castes.
