Shivaji was no less a roxbber than Babur or Akbar or Aurangzeb were !
The majority of common people under each of these exalted roxbbers led lives of virtual slaxvery and suffered from the hardships caused by a highly hierarchical system of society.
Every war, every act of fort building, every act of raising and maintaining a huge army and every example of the luxurious lifestyles led by the rulers came entirely out of the toil and slavery of common peasants and artisans.
Huge taxes, whether in the form of a big cut of farm produce or in cash, were the norm under the Mughals as well as under hyndu kings like Shivaji!
Shivajis much touted *land reforms* were nothing but a measure taken with the overarching purpose of ensuring that there were no leakages in the heavy taxes imposed upon commoners to fund expensive wars and elaborate fort building.
In other words, ancient India as well as medieval India were in effect, no different at all from medieval Europe in terms of slaxvery of large segments of commoners!
While this system of slavery was known as feudalism in Europe, it was couched under a big range deceptive Sanskrit and vernacular terms in India.
And the British, sensing early that they can milk this Indian version of feudalism and rule and tax without having to bear much responsibility of governance, allowed a large number of hyndu as well as muxlim kings to continue to rule their small kingdoms in exchange for hefty tributes - again at the expense of commoners!

Chatrrapati or the Protector of Masses Shivaji ate only Onions and Bajra Bhakri during campaign.. Also punished his captain who abducted the daughter of Subedar of Kalyan and returned her with honor.
Compare this with the treatment of Khilji to Rani Samyogita !!!!

And why does Shashi Tharoor remain silent about this most obvious fact ?
Oh, only because his own party - the Congress - employed the very same tool to keep a majority among those with hyndu names deprived of land ownership and other resources and all other means to acquire a decent enough way of living !
Just one bit of repeatedly established statistics - that no less than 68 % of all farmland is still owned by just 9 % among the farming community - is enough to conclusively prove that there is little indeed in substance to differentiate between the RSS and the Congress !
Congress has a hereditary of Pro - Pakistan leaders like Shashi Tharoor, MS Aiyyer, Salmaan Khurshid etc, who happen to express their loyalty to Pakistan every now & then thru their utterances, since they have some or the other connections with Pakistan.
MS Aiyyer & Salman Khurshid are very much on the payroll of Pakistan and for THAROOR, He appears to be more loyal to his Girlfriend from PAKISTAAN , as compared to his mother land nation. That's Why he has NOT bothered for instigating his official wife to die & rather he abetted her to commit suicide and still he is professing wisdom now free of cost to others on matters beyond his any of contribution.
It is for the Media, to identify such GADDARs in India & keep them isolated & identified ;likewise.
