Unless there is a government policy, plan and push for an industrial scale Municipal Solid Waste Disposal program, we will continue to fool ourselves. All we are doing now is to sweep garbage under a carpet!
Why only Swachha Bharat.The demonetization,introduction GST,the way cases are persued for Vijay Malya& Nirav Modi,the honesty and integrity of the entire cabinet just to name a few.
Possible instead of dry toilets... toilets connected to local sewage treatment plants... using the treated waste/water for irrigation etc.. creating a ecosystem of utility.. infrastructure would have gone a long way..but then you require a visionary not a slogan shouting commission system

It takes a visionary to start with Slogan shouting to recognize and bring awareness that we have a problem. Pretending that all is well after the slogan shouting is lack of vision. The "Garibi Hatao' slogan of the 60s / 70s died as a slogan because after 3 - 4 decades the garib's have steadily increased. Another example is the Nationalization of Banks. It was just to take control over the institution and not to make the service open enough for the lower substratum of society.
