India should produce its own 6th generation aircrafts
by brian crasto on Sep 04, 2018 11:59 AM

Even after 70 years India has to rely on others countries for aircrafts. We have got HAL with many senior IAF officers serving them. We can easily built the best aircrafts in the world. But it requires political will to do it. The congress kept it in limbo and now the present must take action. It will save us lot of foreign exchange

What IAF wants
by vidhan chandra on Jul 07, 2018 10:31 PM

There is no threat of war, Tejas and its variants in future will be the capability building asset and AMCA which has the foundation of Stealth fighter made by India except its engine, together form a viable and potent air power that will be needed in near future. Some of these assets can be exported to generate revenues and to establish as Global Arms exporter. Future will be bright for SMEs in India under Make in India program.

make an unique selection

That technology / engine type / overall know-how , which is not known /& or new to them, that is to our sworn enemies, must be selected so that they may not try to poke into at least in the initial years perchance should there be a war.

The manufacturing must be at HAL, with only selected military personal as work force for this particular project.

As we pay heavy , we must protect our interests more than anything else.

India lacks a strong enemy who would force it to fight a big war.

So its Babus of various kinds do defence procurement like buying a luxury car, no hurry, no urgency, waiting for the best goods and best deals, otherwise no need to buy.

Double salute to those who achieved
by R ponnabalam on Jul 07, 2018 12:55 PM

Yes!ISRO is a case of success and well run research and development set up.But we should replicate it in Aeronautics. We spend huge money on fighter aircrafts. There is no efforts seen going on to develop aircraft of any category >There is discussion on hair cut in banks, discussion on GDP growth when in the past 30yrs the per capita income of Srilanka and Indonesia had doubled (they had no Economist PM that to one time RBI Governor). In the case of ISRO ,Sarabhai,UR Rao ,Menon and all have done jobs deserving Double salute, one salute for the positive job they did and another salute for not doing the negative jobs that had been there in banks PSU s(here the biggest culprit was Unionism).Neither the Govt; does; nor does the opposition questions the Govt. on this. They are busy with vote bank Secularism ReligionR.Ponnambalam

India's security

ISRO has been successful with out IITians who run away to USA (Thanks Trumph to put an end to this)or pick up brainless cushy brainless jobs.It is time emphasis is laid on creative part of engineering which results in good brainy guys opting for designs (plenty available in Tier one institutions). All we see courtesy churning out of cramsters from the technical institutions under aegis of another defunct unidimensional AICTE. Lastly no corrupt political system would want to indigenize & be self reliant in defence even at the cost of India's security! Sick of the system...

What happedned to development started in 1971
by R ponnabalam on Jul 07, 2018 12:18 PM  | Hide replies

Ok.A need is there. It is to be addressed.Let it go on.Sometimes in 1970-71 HAL embarked on development ,recruiting a good number of candidates for Design etc. What is the result? It is not heard. But it must discussed, shortcomings identified ,nailed. furthur development work carried out What happened to that .Nothing is heard.Govt. cannot sleep saying we are not meant for running industry. This bank Hair Cut and NPA Industry building phenomena should end.The Govt. must stop telling that it is not CAPABLE of ---R.PONNAMBALAM
