Lax approach adopted by State Owned Oil Companies towards public safety To this day even State Owned Oil PSU's remain non commital about the implementation of the MB Lal Committee Report. This committee was set up by MOPNG in the wake of Jaipur fire incident at an IOCL owned installation in 2009. The committee in it's report (copy of which is available on the OISD had clearly blamed the transfer policy of the company and requested them to post only suitably qualified personnel at sensitive installations. However, no such norm has been put in place even a decade after the incident. The state owned oil PSU's have petrol/diesel/kerosene storage installations across the country which are located in close vicinity to villages/towns that are thickly populated. Failure by the State Owned Oil PSU's in following safety norms endangers the life and properties of millions of people across the country
