It requires a lot of courage to speak the truth, especially when it involves the Madrassas. Hats off to Mr. Rizvi. Now the Mullahs and seculars are trying to divert the issue saying he is a 'shia' muslim!!!

good idea that we need high quality convent education
by sunil on Jan 19, 2018 03:43 PM  | Hide replies

I am impressed. It would be good if Muslims start investing in creating high quality educational convents like Christians do, in every nook and corner of India and become a role model for muslims across the world.

Sir, I feel that the Mullahs/leaders want to keep them uneducated and poor so that they can be exploited for their own personal ends.

Mr Ashraf is a very smart man ... in articles against Modi, his questions for the interview are very loaded. His questions here are very obtuse ... more one of a Shia vs Sunni twist is being given ... he glosses over the fact of terrorists being created ... and tries to intimidate the interviewee with questions like ... "how many terrorists have been arrested " OR "No Terror Links have been established to Madrassas in UP" {A statement and NOT a question} Also asking "why did you create this report ..." etc. Smart guy!

Till the time madarsa education is completely abolished this problem will live. The fact that many muslims are poor and illiterate cant be denied ,at the same time, there should be vigorous efforts to bring the maximum children in the fold of modern education...whats the use of the knowledge when it cant be used anywhere, except again in madarsas,,,thats the vicious cirlce

Since 90% of the brain development of a child happens by the age of 7, religious or political classes to be imparted to children only after 8 years age. The Central government should pass a law prohibiting madrasa or sunday school or temple education before the age of 8. Only household teachings may be permitted. The sad thing is that the so called religious teachers are good for nothing in other fields and to gain their livelihood they often teach fundamentalism.

We have as a country spent for salary of teachers in in madarasas.THE RESTURN FOR THAT EXPENDITURE in TERMS of number of educated should be known to the country In many states particularly in South education is free.Muslims had been educated .True in in mid 1950s they were not sending girl children to school by religious diktats. Now things have changed. They thrive in business, are Rich.If you bring out the extent property purchased by them that will also add to clarity. That is not normally needed,But the regular cry of "we are backward " tells that let that also be told.Question them why they have not educated their children in places where education is free.Don't point fingers at others when 4 fingers point toward you R.Ponnambalam

How to implement
by Soumitra Goswami on Jan 19, 2018 12:32 PM

Nazrul Islam in pre-independence period only told the Mulla, Priest, Bishops are main drawback for making great nations. Hindu liberals at least reduced priests to only low level job in most areas but other religion seriously lacks the same. Without making the religious learning a low paid job the changes are not going to come, only foment trouble and electoral posturing.
