custodians of Indian morality
by Aditya Venkat on Jan 18, 2018 04:03 PM  | Hide replies

Finially the law of India has been established. Let those pseudo nationalists and so called custodians of Indian culture not watch the film if they dont want. SHame on these self professed upholders of religion and culture, who in this debate have fallen to the extremes of abusing the families of those or heap swear words on those who wish to voice their opinion. IF they are so concerned about loss of their culture, let them walk around half naked, and give up all the modern amenities they are so shamelessly using. Such hypocrisy will not work. Even most right wing fanatics have realised that you can fool people only some of the time, not all the time.

Rajputs are 3% of the Indian population and If I remember correctly they were unable to stop any of the invaders. Their track record has been pathetic.

We are being treated like aliens in our own country
by vijay k on Jan 18, 2018 03:50 PM  | Hide replies

We are being treated like aliens in our own country. Supreme Court have sadly overlooked that their is a very very large section of people who are getting offended by this movie, which is hittng to their core values and beliefs. They are NO criminals as being projected by various English media, they are fighting for their dignity and pride.
When you hit and shake people's core values and beliefs, no courts of the world can stop them.

I appeal to all Indias , pls do NOT go and watch this movie. Let us continue to remember the great Rani Padmavati as mentioned in great song "Aao Bachchon Tumhe Dikhaen Jhanki Hinduatan Ki.......Kud Padi this Yahan Hazaron Padminiyan Angaron Mein" .

You people don’t have ethics. What you get from this movie? 3 hours of time pass with popcorn. But you are leaving a permanent dent on our history. You are hurting sentiments of people who believe that queen as their God. You are showing that king as villain and invader as Hero. I appreciate Muslims who fight for their religion and belief. But Hindus think them self as modern and don’t care anyone. Someone produce a movie for money by distorting history and 100 people support him. Will same people will support same producer, if he make a movie on your family showing them as characterless ?

one one hand you say its timepass and on the other you says its denting history. how can a timepass thing dent history? this movie has a disclaimer that its not presenting history and that's enough. A movie should not be taken as a history lesson. If you want to learn history, go to school/university and not a theatre.

please tell us, how many of your family members are in our national defence forces, or in any charitable or social organisation doing some good to society. Please dont use your pseudo nationalism here ..there are more sanely educated people in this forum who understand what true culture and tradition is. Keep your warped idea of indian culture to yourself and apply it to your family.

please dont spread falsehood. Supreme court looks at the larger section and not less than 1% of the population. I am sure there will only a few hundres who will oppose after seeing the film. Grow up, we are not in 13th century. Sati pratha was done then, its a crime today.

Besdes this story is about the valour of the Rajput Queen, and the valour of the Rajputs how they fought wars. which is aptly shown in the movie . you should feel proud as to how our ancenstors were brave in fighting the moguls, and that is what is hown in the movie.

The decision of the SC has added another feather in the cap of the Apex court. A task accomplished that will go a long way to give strength to the rationalists.

Padmaavat - THE BEST NEWS TODAY !
by daniel thorat on Jan 18, 2018 03:14 PM

The continuously increasing tussle between the judiciary and the legislative since BJP came to the Centre had almost lost completely any hopes of a decision like this today. The four States who had ganged up against this movie for selfish intent of electoral gains need to submit themselves to our Constitution and snap out of the arrogance of power. It is to be hoped that similar attempts in other allied areas will now be abandoned i.e. history falsification and re-writing, creating a new India by destroying the old values and glory of our great nation, and misleading people towards the mirage of imaginary golden ages painted by literature, and that too in a jiffy, forgetting the basic inescapable stark realities of our present.

SC Order on Padmavat
by Shankar Eppoor on Jan 18, 2018 03:05 PM  | Hide replies

From now onwards, the SC shall assume the role of maintaining Law and order with India. Henceforth, if there are any pick pocket, rape, theft, murder, its the responsibility of the SC to take care and not the respective state Governments. A big relief for Governments.

There appears to be a good and valid reason to terminate the 4 State govts. for ganging up in an un-Constitutional and diabolical scheme. These govts. could certainly be emboldened to stop anything by believing that they rule supreme in States as we can see in UP and Haryana. But, the PM who is totally silent and tacitly supporting them, needs to be our hon`ble Prime Minister for the entire people and not only for the 31`% voters who chose him in 2014.
