Tamils
by siddharth on Jan 19, 2018 09:12 PM  | Hide replies

The rate at which missionaries are converting people in Tamil Nadu, soon there will be only 50 percent tamils left in TN. Missionaries are destroying Tamil culture and language. Once TN used to be proud about its unique language and culture, already most of the traditions and customs lost.

@siddharth - i dont see any connection between this article subject and your claim on tammil culture.. These are not the regular straying(starying to iran !! ??) fishermen -you imagine and dislike pathologcallyy -, from coast but they are employed by a dubai based co. and owner is responsible - he already done his job. May be indian embassy can help but they are not primarily responsible. they will step in only if is a critical matter of safety or war..

@siddharth - good imagination you have to peddle your stuff. reality is different. go outside TASMAC and you will see who is the real threat to tamil culture. look at Tamil muslims who never know urdu are mostly speaking urdu now (forced on them by their co-religionissts from northh similar to hindii forced upon us by our hinduu co-religionsits from northh ) now. These are the real threats to tammil langaugee and culture besides - the distorted view- persons like you ..have you seen canadaian PM justin trudeu's pongal celebrations. ??

Let the center give them the power to do it themselves. ie: Will it declare TN an independent nation ? So long as he is the PM of the Federal India, he should do his job properly whether people like him or not. Otherwise he is unfit to be a ruler. According to you, should a citizen do slavery to the person in power at the centre in a democracy.

This is pepetual problem The real cause must be investigated for a permanent solution. Afterall this is an avoidable work for GOI.The time and money could then be spent more usefully.

Rediff Dont Jump To Conclusions So Soon!
by on Jan 18, 2018 03:11 PM  | Hide replies

1st of all, this people who are trapped in Iran were working for Dubai based company. And the article itself says that this fishermen were engaged in fishing in Dubai. So basically its the duty of Dubai Govt. to get this fishermen released and not of Indian Govt as they were working for a Dubai Company. Still Indian Govt. will go out of its way to help them as it has previously done under Sushmaji. But this things take time. Its not as easy that 'ek phone gumaya aur kaam hogaya'. And i dont want to say it but i will that this people go to foreign countries to work but when it comes to rescuing them they ask help from Indian Govt.

They are Indian citizens, working hard abroad to earn a living and sending money to India. Do you think they shouldn't do that? Will you arrange for their livelihood? And why shouldn't the Indian embassy help them? Because they are Tamil?

does their names suggest you that they are tamils? they do not care for their tamil identity, they think it is inferior to out tamil names once they convert and change their language, so still you feel they are tamils, when they do not care about it.

This is the tragedy .. every argument someone get to the region, Cast religion card. Anyways you guys do not like BJP than solve it on your own. These civilians are not been sent on Government of India's duty. Who knows what were they were upto. If the GOI helps than it is purely out of humanitarian angle. so please do not pressurise government by saying because of we are Tamilians, govt is not doing anything.
