which is slipping from Congress, the four judges wanted to oblize this party by their action by coming out in Public and organised Press Conference, and specifically mentioned their demand to head the bench dealing with the file of Judge Loya, besides uttering more inconsistent remarks against present CJI.

Judges Revolt
by R Venkateswaran on Jan 16, 2018 02:13 PM

It seems that every Party has a mouthpiece through print / visual media, etc. Rediff is an exclusive mouthpiece of Congress. How else an ongoing issue among the judges could find highlight through a press conference? Of the four judges, three are unlikely to become the Chief Justice of India, succeeding the current incumbent, Judge Shri D Mishra, except Judge Shri Gogoi, who has not been vocal as the other three judges were. Very often a case is determined on the basis of circumstantial evidence. In this instant case, the presence of one of the advocate, Indira Jaisingh, the presence of Editor Shekhar Gupta and the communist MP, Shri Daniel Raja meeting Judge Shri Chelameswar, gives a curious turn of the event. More than what the CJI did or didn\\\'t do, they have acted at the behest of some individuals / parties. People\\\'s faith on these judges has been eroded completely.

SC Crisis
by Sheonandan Pandey on Jan 16, 2018 11:37 AM

It was hard to imagine that the Indian judicial system will suffer a crisis of the present kind. Differing opinion was little misplaced. It as rather a healthy matter. Nevertheless, it was unexpected that the system will fall flat in addressing them. It gets one to think of the dynamics, in particular some of the developments in the body politics. The Chief was justified in holding the roster making close to his heart, and deciding whom to assign one particular matter. In the same vein, there was little justified in ushering the principle of 'one among equals'. The chief had to have a notch upper position in the administrative matters. Side by side, it was important that the chief's decision lived up to required standard. Where it crossed the line, it was bound to arouse suspicion. There is a common feeling that the chief justice has shown accommodation for the govt. line. Provided so, the danger was so evident that the dissenters among the judges ill go down in the history with a reference point.
