Navy housing at Mumbai
by R Chakravarti on Jan 12, 2018 08:07 AM  | Hide replies

Let us hope the naval officers can explain things to the minister. He apparently has no understanding of the matter and is playing politics.

Gadkari is right. Althe navi officers want better accomodation in Mumbai posh area and want to object at the most of the projects where their permission is required. As compared to other arm forces and Air forces, they enjoyed comparatively better and easy life full of luxury. Gadkari is a senior central minister and he always talk with sense.

Gadkari's comments

The ministers statement is in very bad taste. Does he want the Navy to stay permanently with their families at the border? Is that what he thinks of the defence forces? I think he should publically apologise.

Think about the army and Airforce and see how they live and compare their life with that of Navy personnels.

All the Armed Forces headquarters need to be shifted
by Salil Shete on Jan 12, 2018 01:46 AM

All the Armed forces Quarters need to be shifted to suit current needs of the country. Everyone is just sitting on the development done 50-60 years ago whilst everything else has grown.

What a pity??, when mumbai was attacked, forces came to rescue there local police was useless.

Are men in uniform designed only to fight and die??, After retirement they should be given best because they are the best.

If navy unnecessarily put hurdles in the projects for development of the country, the ministers can also show his power and tell them what he can also do for them. Why Western command chief Girish Luthra, who was present didnt object to the statement of the minister ?
