Doctors want to charge 16 lakhs for dengue .... the patient dies.
by Nalin Kishore on Jan 15, 2018 08:36 PM

Loot in the name of fees, unnecessary tests, deliberate sabotaging of govt hospitals equipment to allow pvt labs to flourish, not treating mandatory number of poor patients, not serving in the villages despite getting subsidised education, are just a few of the things that have made the govt to take charge. There is nothing wrong in what the govt is doing.

Doctors turned looters in last 40 years.
by Ghanshyam sengar on Jan 15, 2018 08:30 PM

40 years back, more than 85 percent patients used to go to govt hospitals for treatment but in the last 40 years , doctors turned govt hospitals in such a bad situation that not even 10 percent people go to govt hospitals and they are looted in private hospitals. Some steps are needed to stop this loot by doctors.

Modi ji ...please dont try to breakdown the system of medical practice. By mixing Allopathy.. ayurvedic and homeopathy you will get a khichdi...mixture.. what ever you call.. that is not going to benifit our country. After the reservation policy this NMC will be another disaster for our intelligent people. You have seen IT, Engineers and MBAs going and settling down in western countries.. after this bill is passed majority doctors will migrate from our country...Don't be coward....

Doctors need to be put in place
by Prof R K Gupta India on Jan 08, 2018 09:15 AM

Indian doctors like other professionals are corrupt and doing malpractices looting citizens. There is need to control them now.
IT is a lobby .Taking 40% commission for test labs, doing unnecessary tests. Doing private practice instead of sitting in hospital. Poor knowledge on medicines and side effects,. Charging 10000 to 1 lac for ordinary surgeries.there is loot going on all over. Government should fix government rates for all private hospitals. naturally these crooks will oppose any reforms. Also double medical seats in country .bring foreign doctors to teach if there is need for next 10 years at government cost.It is big investment for Country and its future. Put doctors in place .
There was a movement started by us 30 years back when we asked for barefoot doctors a kind of paramedical experts in rural and small city areas form science background who could bne trained for a year and allowed to treat minor diseases, epidemics, dispense medicines and collect samples for various essential tests and the if needed forward patient to nearby hospitals. But it was put under carpet. This Bill is talking of same thing allowing alternative therapy doctors allopathy after a course which they are already doing but illegally. It is necessary to bring costs of all things in line with GDP per capita in this country .loot is going on started by beimann sardar and now this guy Modi. There is lawlessness in country and plunder going on. Modi must go.

Yet another
by piri on Jan 07, 2018 11:49 AM

act of an authoritarian govt in a boondock nation made up greatly of stuxpid commoners !

It is bad enough that the governments in power since independence grossly under invested in public healthcare. India spends just 0.9 % of its GDP for public healthcare. China spends more than 4 % and its GDP is more than 5 times the size of Indias, leading to a Chinese receiving 22 times (PPP terms) as much from his govt in average for his healthcare as an Indian gets from his govt in average !!

Now, the Modi govt, in its attempt to hit two birds with one stone (create the impression among the gullible-as-ever commoners that it is moving seriously forward in public healthcare yet make no increases in public investment in it), has hit upon such reckless as well as Quixotic ideas as certifying doctors qualified only in alternative medicine to practise allopathy after undergoing cheap short term bridge courses !!

And, to steam roll its way forward with such Quixotic as well as corrupt decisions, the Modi govt is seeking to divest the medical care field of whatever autonomy it has had for so long !!

Control everything, the motto
by jaideep shirali on Jan 07, 2018 11:44 AM

We seem to have a bunch of people at the top, who believe they know everything and do not need anybody's advice. What we have is a spineless or heavily politicized bureaucracy, whose qualities do not need discussion, as their actions speak more than their words. This mindless race to supposedly reinvent, rather destroy, principles or institutions built over time, will prove very costly for our nation. Finally, we must have a rule that politicians should be treated only in government hospitals and in the future, only by "doctors" who have done these bridge courses ! Let's see then whether our netas practice what they preach !

Make the changes to the NMC bill and scrap MCI
by lakshmana murthy on Jan 05, 2018 10:03 PM

This guy has some valid points like scrapping that bridge course and increasing the number of seats for meritorious students. But then he is trying to use those points to safeguard his position in the Maharashtra Medical Council and to escape Government scrutiny. The Government should scrap these Medical Councils but should not reduce the number of seats available to meritorious students.
