"Majoritarian"
by daniel thorat on Jan 01, 2018 12:14 PM  | Hide replies

What this word now means is : I have 282 LS MPs and any bill with rabidly communal colours will be passed, targetting one minority community after another. I will set up a national agency that can do anything in any State in India and brand every cross culture marriage as a Jihad. I will ban one thing in one religion but let a hundred cruel, superstitious things continue untouched in my faith. I will raise a army of social media activists to produce false responses, back false and really anti national things, I will insist on Bharat Mata Ki Jay(yes, I support that) but condition the rest of the country to several other "Matas" like Santoshi Mata, and others, I will try to destroy all true history of my country and promote false history, I will say there was "plastic surgery" in my country thousands of years ago and create an impression that this beloved great country of India was at all times a fully integrated, homogeneous nation with one culture, one religion, one aspiration etc. etc. That is majoritarian politics. Also, that I will do what I want just because I have LS majority. Why need we try to repeat the upleasant, chequered history of my mother land, which was ruled by foreign powers in the past?

If you have majority in parliament means that you have people's trust in your party which means you can pass bills and someone can approach supreme court for certain cases..this is how democracy always worked..why are you crying now? -:)

Indian politics

Congress has given highly prejudiced politics dividing India on the lines of caste, religion and region just to keep powers with them. Today burning issues are:
1. National Policy on population
2. Reservation only to BPL class
3. Common Secular Civil Code
4. Total overhaul of people friendly judicial system
5. Complete overhaul of tax structure
6. Cut in DA linked pension to politicians and govt. servants and bringing all perqs. in govt. service at par with common man with hire and fire policy.
7. Many but the above need immediate attention.
Our hope with Modi too has gone dim, he is punishing common man by way taxation and difficulties, not taking any action on real issues including political reforms.

So majoritarian politics has come to stay and rightfully and powerfully so; and for ever.
Last seven decades have seen appeasement politics and blatant minoritariansm at play.
The Congress rule were no different from 'Sultanate' of medieval India.
It was the minority ruling India through the Congress Party.
Not a single muslim is vocal about 'secularism' in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Islamic countries.
But waxes eloquent on 'secularism' in India.
See J&K and Kerala.
The above cartoon is a rightful depiction of the mood amongst Hindus.
Too long we have suffered; Muslim invaders, and then the Neheruvian Congress.
We have risen and will not be taken for granted any more.

Corruption and communal politics is now rampant under BJP rule? This is the truth-taking country to pre-medieval ages

your thoughts are grave insult to your name 'vidwan', the mighty gupta dynasty is regarded as golden period of pre-medieval ages
There are only two pre-medieval kings with some record of communal violence- Ashoka and pushyamitra shunga. But ever since the attack of Muhammad bin Qasim on Sind in early 8th century, communal violence became a routine event till muzaffarnagar violence some years back!!

Sorry, you are misinterpreting. Am not just commenting on BJP. My serious comment is about Congress which won almost 100% seats and still it resorted to corruption, appeasement, cate and religion politics. This pushed the country under the present filth.
What Modi is doing is just the extension of what congress did in several decades.
Corruption and religion based politics is the biggest threat for this land. Let it be followed by BJP or Congress or any other party fate will remain same.

Winning in democracy is essentially the basics of democracy. What is wrong in that or why it was not like that till now I am not sure
