Logistics can play big role in employment generation
by rajesh venkatraman on Feb 15, 2018 11:58 AM

If Modi govt can start logistics company like a PSU with less profit in the initial years, it will help the auto industry grow as well as more jobs to the people in terms of maintenance, drivers, cleaner, auto spares, marketing etc.
They can start city based ones in all over india and include the last mile connectivity for long distance bus, train and metro in the cities. Auto, Cabs, bike taxi. They can also use for transporation of agri goods to the storage centers or mandis for grains, pulses, fruits and vegetables for faster delivery of goods to nearby cities
They can also have huge container transportation from ports to cities, LPG tankers, heavy goods transportation on roads, small ship transportation between ports and coastal cities.
Long term benefits (medical and insurance) with medium range salary will benefit a lot of the poor or middle class people and benefit the farmers.

If govt can create spaces for selling of farm products directly to consumers in cities by nearby farmers will improve standards of farmers and they gain more.

Tourism with more cheaper boarding and lodging facilities, hotels can generate more employment in hinterland.

Always had doubts about your Journalist accuman but this article justifies my apprehensions. Its good to be a Critic of Govt. and its policies but you choose to demonise an individual. Strange, that you never found any positives of Govt.'s achievement during three and half years, when more than half the world recognises it.
I am a senior citizen with little affiliation to one individual or one political class but I find it very disturbing to read your coloumns or see you debating on TV where you appear with set Agenda. This is doing you and your country NO GOOD.Call of the hour is Balanced reporting. Wishing you well Mr. SHEKHAR.

Super analysis Sir. Very objective, balanced yet constructive criticism inspite of being a senior citizen who Mr. Gupta's kind of media paints to be totally disenchanted with the present dispensation.

It cannot be generalised as if caste and religion play a vital role in voting. In fact all political parties choose their candidates from the same community which dominates in the respective constituency. Further in big towns and cities voters never bother about any community but choose the political party. Throughout the country no minority community/religion dominates in any constituency. How long it could be commented that only on caste or religion basis people are voting. There are so many outfits/parties based on caste and religion. None of those parties ever won an election.

In general people prefer only on party basis and certain extent based on candidates respectability.

5% INFLATION RATE IS GOOD OR 10% INFLATION RATE DURING THE CONGRESS REGIME WHICH INDIRECTLY HURTS COMMON PEOPLE. BUT CONGRESS THINK PEOPLE'S MEMORY IS SHORT. BUT WE ARE THE SUFFERER OF THE MAHANGAI DURING THE CONGRESS REIGME, WHICH HURT THE MIDDLE CLASS THE MOST. AS THE LOWER CLASS ENJOYS THE FREEBEES GIVEN BY THE RULING PARTIES AND UPPER CLASS NEVER SUFFER FROM THE MAHANGAI.

NEXT ELECTIONS
by tejindar singh on Feb 15, 2018 11:03 AM

BJP will win next elections, I fee except if two things emere. 1. Modi's fake education certificate is established like Smriti, ...2. Shah is jailed for Shaubudin and fake encounter. Strategy od BJP which Shekhar has failed to mention is....Appeasement of minorities wins very few votes where as appeasement of majority community will and has given big dividends to BJP. Sadly majority community is swayed by the "street smart remarks" against cong high ups especially the educated class. Religion is a great saying factor.

It depends. You can earn 100 crores of rupees by Ghotala or earn your livelihood by selling Pakoda. It depends whether you belongs to cong or BJP.
