Only thing that has changed from "old Days" is fact that, then most of channels of communicating one's view were controlled by Congress/Left machinery. This led to Congress/Left opportunity to put out their view without any apprehension of someone putting forth their counter view. Hence the eco-system looked very calm and "cultured". The fact that a large majority had a counter view was hence kept under the carpet. Today, however social media has allowed other side to present their view as well and this is making erstwhile "intellectuals" very uncomfortable. This discomfort is being tom tomed as "increase in conflict in society". Crime figures when looked at longer range haven't changed significantly, but now the labelling is much deliberate and quicker to support the theory of increased conflict. People in olden days were as angry about beaurocrats and politicians misusing their powers as now, but now they have avenues to call them out. Quality of language etc are just issues of form, given that majority now have access to avenues to share their view which were restricted earlier. This trend will over time improve as their frustration ebbs. However this does not mean quality of narration used by erstwhile intellectuals was great....its just that their lies / deceptions are now being called out openly, which no one, especially those who have over grown egos based on historical experience don't like. my suggestion to author is

What about Jodhra muslim criminal and killers of Kashmiri Pandits. We live in a country where minority attacks on majority, and have many Jaichand who are spoiling peace and harmony of this country.

Shah Faesal is absolutely right...
by Srinivas on Dec 18, 2018 11:57 AM

So he should migrate to a vibrant, secular democracy like Pakistan/ Afghanistan/ Iran/ Iraq/ Saudi Arabia etc. etc.

He can get all the love, peace, brotherhood, freedom of expression which he desires so passionately.
