by chanakya maurya on Aug 30, 2018 04:57 PM  | Hide replies

A jingle that has already been discounted by the adult franchise of Bharatvarsh. Though shrouded in secrecy it has no comparison with the bofors.

All the years UPA govt warmed the benches on the Rafale deal. At the end they neither concluded it nor they cancelled it. They spoke of taking 126 yrs.
Common sense in any business tells that higher the quantities ,lower the prices. If the qty is lower prices will be higher. The govt has gone for 36 planes which is less than 30 % in terms of qty , then what was being discussed. Obviously the price would be higher , one doesnt need to be rocket scientist to determine it . The govt has clearly mentioned , that the force depletion levels is so bad, we badly need to augument the same an hence arrived at a short term solution to tied over the depleted numbers , which the UPA didnt bother to address . Also if technology is being transferred the initial cost of setting up such a high tech establishment to manufacture it would also come into play.

People should vote for third front ....which could save them. For 50 years both parties have been only accusing each other of corruption charges.

But somebody has to reveal what is its actual price before making a deal? If you are honest be transparent, what is the big deal. Qater purchased 12 Rafale jets in Nov. 2017 for Rs 694.8 crs /jet. If Qater can disclose price why not India ?

Qatar is ruled by kings, but India is governed by a democractic elected govt . There is no CAG there, whatever, the rulers say is the final word. Can we have that in India ???

We say that a scam has taken place when someone in responsible position does something in collusion with others that results in loss to the exchequer and detrimental to the interests of the nation.

In this case, the exchequer has suffered, even if it is Re 1. If everything was done as per laid down guidelines (as none in administration or in public service can do anything according to their wish but can do only as per laid down systems and procedures), then what is it that stops the dealing personnel to disclose the price details and the number of equipments being bought.

As long as it does not come, people would naturally have suspicion.

Besides, another reason for suspicion is that in a recent media report, it was revealed that one of the Directors of Reliance Naval had quit. Since Reliance Naval is involved in this case, this quick reaction from one of the most influential Directors of the Company, again breeds suspicion.

What is wrong in discussing the issue in Parliament ? Why not present the complete details before the elected representatives in Parliament ?

Justifying the actions through unrelated persons first and then those seeking the data being called anti-nationals, etc., would only aggravate the issue. This would not have come this far had the elected representatives in Parliament been taken into confidence and shared complete details there.

And if everything is according to laid down systems and procedures and can be justified, then what is the problem in forming a JPC ? So, the demand for JPC probe can be justified.

And this may be the second to the other scam that was inflicted on the country. Note withdrawal had inflicted unbearable loss on the economy; people lost jobs; lots of time of the country was wasted; lots of money was spent for printing new notes and for its safety and transportation; lack of currency had adversely affected each and every facet of life.

Those involved in the decision making process must face law of land, as this was imposed on the country without following proper systems and procedure and it seems without considering its necessity.

It is not the case. When the showroom fellow said that the cost of the car is 100 rupees, you are entering into a contract to buy the car for 300 rupees.

Rafael
by rathi raj on Aug 30, 2018 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

Half-baked and selective reporting! The Rafael to be delivered are "off-the-shelf" and with different avionics, weapons and other systems, which may be with variance from those sold to Qatar and also during the initial deal under the UPA.
UPA didn't disclose why their deal failed to proceed? Why so much delay in procurement of 126 MRCA that made the IAF look like sitting ducks?
As for the deal with Reliance Aerospace, the step is laudable and in coherence with the Make-in-India policy.
So far HAL been enjoying complete monopoly over all the aerospace development and production, the extremely slow progress is evident to all of us. By incorporating private sectors, the idea is to introduce competition, as seen all over the world's weapon manufacturers.
What's wrong if Reliance, Tata, L&T, etc, get involve in this industry? They would give DRDO and OFB run for their money and break their monopoly besides producing better weapons and systems.
We have already witnesses that DRDO hasn't been able to produce a decent rifle so far, better ones are produced in the illegal factories in Bihar!

If India can make satellites & missiles like BROMOS why can`t HAL make Rafale in collaboration too? If Govt want to bail out Anil Ambani of very heavy debit , its another matter
What is the credibility of Reliance defence viz a viz HAL who is in aerospace business for decades?
