Kerala should not be denied foreign aid
by GURBACHAN SINGH ARORA on Aug 29, 2018 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

Let India's forget about its ego for not accepting aid from UAE. The need of the hours that all possible aid must be acceptable as the extent of damage is quite substantial and lot of funds are required for rehabilitation process. When the aid coming is in a right spirit for noble cause, there must not be any hassle forgetting about what previous Govt did in his term. Moreover, the earlier disaster was not disastrous.

If somebody says there is nothing like National Pride is not worth commenting. Still why suddenly some particular countries are interested in donating. We are seeing national disaster from last 70 years but never heard/seen any country extending help except P 420 wheat which saved us in our childhood.

Keraka flood relief
by P S SHAH on Aug 28, 2018 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

Few days back, the releif material which included one ton rice and other grains arrived at Thrissur and it was decided to store in the Bar Council hall there. The Bar Council members and advocates adamantly refused to let the relief material to be stored there. Ms. Anupama, thr District Collector issued notice to the bar and broke open the doors and kept all relief material there and locked the door from outside. She as a collector, she took this action under section 34 h), j), m) of The Disaster management Act, 2005. The protesting Advocate stunned by her action. The funny aspect was that even these learned advocates did not know that such act existed. Hats off to a brave lady District Collector of Thrissur, Ms. Anupma, IAS.

Hey stinking mouth barbarian, if you want to buxtt in and bray out something, read about it well before doing so !

Dont try to bray for the sake of braying !

Collector Anupama has expressed surprise about the initial news report that the lawyers association refused to open those rooms !

It was a sunday and the bar association staff were not available to open the rooms when the trucks from TN arrived without notice. The collector invoked her power under the disaster management act and opened the rooms by breaking the locks. The bar association building is situated in the collectorate itself.

While the unloading of the rice bags was going on, the lawyers in the town came to know about it and, led by one Mr Girish, joined in unloading and stacking the bags in the 2 rooms !

This fact was stated by the Collector herself in response to a media query sent by email !

Pinarayi Vijayan appointed Ms.T.V. Anupama as District collector of Alappuza in August, 2017. Five weeks later, govvernment found itself in sticky situation, thanks to two back to back report by her to revenue departmentendorsing the charge of encroachment and conversion of land in land in violation of Kerala Conversion of Paddy land and wetland Act by a rsort owned by syate transport minsiter Thomas chandy. Thomas Chandytried his best and went to Kerala high court with a petition to quash her report. The not only refused to obliged him but came down heavily on him with strong strictures for filinf petition against his own government. Ms. Anupama is always ready to questiuon and tackle the faults in the system. when she was Food Safety commissioner, she got CITU leader arrested on charge of demanding money for simply watching loading and unloading of goods. She also conducted raids across the state, took food adulerators head-onand banned number of products. India need such efficient intelligent officers with guts, determination, sincerity, honesty.

Hey, peaxbrain barbarian !

Blind man describing the elephant after feeling it with his hands !!!

Hey, dumbo, upright officials in the central services as well as state services (revenue, health, education, police, land admin, road transport....) in Kerala is not news (unlike in your barbarian land) !

Upright officials receive tremendous popular support in Kerala and the acts of those who are not so upright are the topics of active public debate in Kerala !!

Hey dumbo, ever heard of the Transparency International and their rankings of Indian states in corruption ?

No ?

Read about it in your kyndi language, you pin head !

And, dumbo, so you admit that you have brayed out your ignorance in the Collector breaking locks episode, don't you ?

whenever there is some fat lie and opportunity to blast nationalists (and Hindus). First of all UAE made a press statement that they never promised any aid. Looks like this author had a cut and paste article written overnight and also got paid. rediff has no choice but to publish. what an irony.
