LK Advani - an undisputed leader
by K Bhaskaran on Sep 12, 2018 09:50 AM

The Duo Modi-Shah are of late proud to be seen with Mr. Advani whom they had kept away from BJP hierarchy. Even late Vajpayee was just a guest. Modi-Shah combine is nothing to the above two.

Win 5 of these 9 states and rule India
by NG Nileshwar on Aug 26, 2018 06:29 AM

Each of the 9 states has anti-incumbency. But does that mean that there is a strong alternative available? With RaGa behaving like what he does, I see no chance for Congress, unless the leadership changes. Of course, the local factors could assist.
WB would not be up for grabs. But UP and Bihar could. With ailing Lalu, and the urge for power as displayed by SP and BSP, BJP would stand some chance in UP, though it may not improve upon its present strength. What BJP needs is to maintain Bihar and Rajasthan.
Southern states would not be affected by BJP.
But having seen the approach of the so called Opposition, every party wants to dominate. Possibly, each one could be a king maker not the KING. So does BJP really have an suitable alternative? Only Maharashtra will decide with the slippery Shiv Sena taking its stand.
Presently SS is against BJP. But power corrupts.

only these states
by s kumar on Aug 25, 2018 07:38 PM

since 1947 The governments were formed only when these 7 states were won- UP,Bihar (incl.Jhk) ,hryna,Maharashtra,MP(incl.chg) -Rj-GJ- total - 249-
Even if all seats are lost from TN,AP, Kerala, WB,Ods,Krtka,(193 seats)ther is no impact for BJP - as such they hold only about 10 in these states) -its clear they will lose about 60-70 seats from 280 now ( tally 210-220) but not make up much in these states. which means we have a hung parliament in 2019 .. BJP needs to have post poll allies to form govt.

if we see after freedom then no doubt that bjp is rising very well and last 20 years politics they are so and so strong . if opposition political party go for allies then it is also a gain of bjp because congress not getting benefit extra as a party organization because they only just help state base political party and future if they form govt. then allies always with in compromise and in compromise you will never get the best.

Guess WB and Gujarat are kept out of this because it is assumed that radical change is not possible there.

12 out of 26 in Gujarat this time.
by Rakesh Pandit on Aug 25, 2018 04:26 PM  | Hide replies

Being a 65 year old Modi supporter from Gujarat, it is painful to predict just 12 to 14 seats out of 26 this time from here. Current govt is weak with pitiful governance. People are alienated due to for example 1) Bhupendrabahen Chudasama, education minister for school fee chezting issue, 2) RC Faldu, agriculture minister for groundnut burning / mixing sand issue and 3) Pradipbahen Jadeja, home minister for weak and corrupt police/security. Its bye bye BJP this time from Gujarat. Sad, but true....
