Yes, there is no proper mechanism for any shelter homes
by Jayaprakash Balan on Aug 06, 2018 11:15 AM

Be it children's home or age old homes, there is no proper mechanism set by State Govt. or Welfare department to ensure that these shelter homes are run properly and inmates happy and living a better life. All this not just because Govt or concern authorities neglect that part either will respect to check or sanctioning funds. The lives of those living in shelter home doesn't have any value. Even the society is not concerned about them or treat them as part of the society. Hence, such things is surely happening in large scale. The rule of our land is that unfortuante people are destined to be exploited. There should be regular social audits for all shelter homes. Also there should be regular rotation of Heads and staff of the shelter so that nobody can pressurise or instill a fear in the minds of the inmates.

Grants from the Govt.
by hayavadana rao on Aug 04, 2018 09:38 AM  | Hide replies

One who all approves the grants to the so called welfare organizations must be held accountable and responsible. These persons receive some percentage of Govt. grants. Therefore, in spite of knowing irregularities, they would advice how to submit required documents and grant the Government funds. Sometimes, even the Ministers are involved in these spurious activities. Their object is to receive bribes.

Compulsory rotation
by Manian on Aug 04, 2018 07:51 AM

Besides audit, there should be a rotation of heads and key personnel of the shelter home and an independent director like person should be nominated for the welfare of the inmates. Further the inmates should be allowed to send their grievance directly to the social welfare ministry without the knowledge of the shelter home heads or incharge for such things to surface. There should be fear in the minds of the people running the home that they are monitored by hawk eye to reduce such incidents

Sacchi Baat Kadvi Hoti Hai !

No Audit ? govt and its officials have no income from there and may be they too have fun time there. Also, any big or large scale crime are done with govt negligence or involvement only.

Even, temples have audit, govt servants are appointed in the temple trust committee, why not shelter homes then.

Money cant be first priority then people. Why we vote then, no need of democracy here?
