There should be a porous border between the two nations.

There are always many entities on both the sides who are there to break the healing relations between the two countries.

Similarities and overwhelming differences
by palanki narayana on Aug 02, 2018 10:37 AM  | Hide replies

The writer talks of similarities between the two countries but realistic enough to recognise the overwhelming differences in attitudes.

no chance anymore
by swaminathankt kt on Aug 01, 2018 04:57 PM

The best ever possible time for mending relations was under MODHIJI and SHARIF. That didn't happen as pakistan is expected to flourish as a democracy first and then try relationships.

Paak army will never allow it to happen and so they jailed sharif and are bringing Imran khan.

Nothing will happen. It will be from bad to worse going by his speeches pre-elections and also otherwise.

India is not loosing much and pakistan to get the benefits of good relationship with india, it has to first establish itself in democracy, and military rule nothing will progress other than progress in the lives of these military men.

as long as the pakk army calls the shots nothting will change. The hate is much more between paranoidd power holders - than between common people.

Nothing will change under Imran..
by Ravi Madiraju on Aug 01, 2018 02:37 PM

Aakar ... You are right when you said that the people on both sides are similar ... places are similar and both sides, in general, want peace. However, you missed a VERY VERY important ingredient called Pak Army - the real culprit as far as Indo-Pak relations are concerned. As long as they are not mended - NOTHING will change.
And, BTW, your last paragraph is such a lie .. I mean, NOBODY speculated that the relations will improve under Imran..as everyone knows that he is a puppet of Pak Army. Even otherwise, Imran's hatred towards India is well known. May be it's you who needs to come out of these hallucinations.

Keep talking for another seventy years.
by surajit som on Aug 01, 2018 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

We are talking for seventy years. Have fought a few wars. Lets do all this for another seventy years. What is the problem ? In fact another seventy years thereafter. What is the hurry ? The world may cease to exist by that time. But then a solution will no longer be required !!!!

Aaakar Imran
by RaghurajT on Aug 01, 2018 01:58 PM

Perhaps Imran should nominate Aaakar as his goodwill ambassador to India. That may solve many problems. Akkar can continue to hold his Amnesty job simultaneously.

India-Pak relationship
by jik on Aug 01, 2018 12:42 PM

All we know it is one country before 1947 as India. But some external culprit fuilling that time to divide the nation into two parts and become enemy forever. That times there were many war occurred around the world. That people were not too educated and technology were not developed.
But now people are too educated and technology are too developed. If we (the people of both country) supported than India-Pak relation become friendly. Imran give open proposal, why India govt. not accepted?? Asked the family members of Soldiers, who dies on Indo-Pak war.. We never expect any more More.. All are in favour of peace. Govt. need to take more initiative on this. For more awareness our cinema./drama industries need to take initiative on it.. Specially the Media groups roles are important..
