But.....almost every other public service and most private services too are very dirty, dangerous and very very corrupt !

If the school van driver did not have the patience to look before crossing. Over and above he was deaf because of ear plugs listening to music. Secondly, this reservation not only decreased efficiency but increased negligence because of immunity. In spite of transporting several crores of people everyday, The Railways are managing minimum accident because of negligence. Leave aside sabotage and irresponsible 4 wheel drivers.

Well it is said that the school van driver was having head phone on. Hence he can never be deaf. The railways need to have subways and flyovers in all the crossings. There is no excuse to human life caused due to accidents.

Railways, Railway-Crossings & Humal life
by MMB on Apr 28, 2018 12:37 PM

Who so ever he or she is, one who has written and published this artical, I have great respect and regards for him. At the same time I would like to add a bit here. Instead of blaming Railways alone for having done little or having done nothing for Human Life & public safety, are we not, as general public, to blame and hold ourselves as equally responsible, for the failure to safeguard Human life and Safety.
Just go deep in to the vast scale corruption prevelant in the system of Contract work, through which works are being carried out in Railways. Just look at the nexes between Contractors, politicians and concerned Railway administration.
Just have a look in to the way the commuters travel by local trains and their heroics. Even if there is space to get in, they will njot do so, nither allow people to get in or out, will just block the entrance. This is a common and main problem in Metro Cities.
Are we not equally responsible.
Govt is spending heavy in Railway infrastructure, but what portion is being put to the right use.
Then there are people, leaders like Kannayyalal, jignesh Mewani, and many top politicians and the over anxious and over vigilant Media to squarely blame Government.
We do not deserve a political system and liberty that we have today.
We deserve a harsh Military type or Russian or Chinese type rule, at least for some years.

Unmanned Level Crossings
by K Bhaskaran on Apr 28, 2018 12:05 PM

The Railway Convention Committee Report (external link) submitted to the Parliamentary standing committee, on unmanned level crossings as on April 30, 2017, stated that 'there were 27,054 level crossings on the Indian Railways network out of which 19,504 were manned level crossings and 7,550 were unmanned. Will it be too much to expect Railways to consider to make all such crossing manned. To that extent there will be some ease in unemployment too.

There are various types a) people run over, people died when a bus or other vehicles crash into the running train. Employing 7550 or more in two/three shifts will save many lives. Unemployment will be that much shorter. Will railways consider?

Safety apart they are not doing anything for improving passenger services like on line reservation also. The website hangs when attempting for tatkal tickets whereas agents will get you tatkal tickets.

Are 4 wheeler drivers not responsible for accidents. Have we forgotten "STOP< LOOK & GO". Why put ear plugs or keep talking on Mobile while driving? Bikers cut in front of a vehicle. SPEED THRILLS BUT KILLS
