What are Col Athale's facts based upon?
by lakshmana murthy on May 01, 2018 10:21 PM

Col. Athale mentions "the fact that almost every crime is followed by public agitation, street protests and even violence". What does "Almost every" stand for? Does it even represent the 1%? What are his facts based upon? What is the source. I have noticed that the retired colonel has always written in Modi's favour. Further he states that "Loss of faith in the fairness of the system and the perception that one cannot expect justice are the first few steps to the slippery slope of anarchy." May be we are headed for anarchy, probably civil war in the distant future. But the loss of hope for justice is quite pervasive.

1. We need to actively work on the falling moral values of the society. Mom and dad(family) focused value system to be inculcated compulsorily.
2. Exemplary punishment to the culprits to be meted out within a reasonable time frame.
3. Politicians, TV anchors, and social media salesmen from various political parties should be banned from using rape as a propaganda event to hit out at their political opponents.

Religion, Law and order and judiciary.

1.Respect your religion.
2.Law and order, policemen need to be well informed about the law that govern them; they will not be in dilemma when mob takes over, to fire or to lathi-charge.
3. Judiciary must be a strong pillar as defined in our Constitution. Judges must not be corrupt.
If people are sincere and law abiding, half the crime will vanish.

Legal reforms???
by daniel thorat on Apr 28, 2018 11:17 PM

We have criminals in high places. We have convicts walking free. We have criminals ruling in States and the Centre. We have criminals in all departments, hospitals, govt. offices, military.Already existing laws can punish them. But, the police, lawyers, judiciary and govt. frustrate, save and promote such criminals. Reforms will do no good, beyond wasting more money. We need to revive human conscience in our nation. True religion can help.Nothing else.

First of all India is not the rapppppistan or center of rape of the world but South Africa is called the rape capital of the world. In South Africa there are 350 rape cases reported every day and it is under reporting which put the case higher and shocking comments that rape has become way of life in South Africa. South Africa also leads in child rape in world. In many cases of rape, violent criminals have first used rape as weapon, later chopped and beheaded the bodies of women there and everyday 3-4 women die violent death like this. Despite judicial reform in South African police, twenty five new fast track court for rape cases opens every year on average, but still there is no respite in this particular crime in South Africa.

The crime rate in South Africa has increased ten fold after they established full democracy there. They neglected social reforms which might appear harsh on hypocrite western nations such as drugs problem, guns problem, alcohol problem, depression, income inequality, long under trial of criminals who don't democratic process, corruption, trace of apartheid where discrimination is done on weaker section women, and most notably poooorn exposure on illiterate results in this heneous crime. West is happy because South Africa is democracy. Everything is all right, fine.

First democracy is not the solution to all the socio- economic problems in our country. The top ten countries in rape are South Africa, America, Sweden, Germany, UK, Canada etc which are all democracy. The idea of democracy is that we will make everyone free to make an informed choice out of rationality where humans would be accountable for their actions. The theory has failed considerably in countries where integrity is low, accountability is none and moral and ethical values are sold or traded with money, hence it is a flawed concept which has failed south africa where just after democracy, they have grown economically but messed up their social fabric. Same is India where democracy is hoax and forceful.

Social reform is key to control rape. The lowest rape countries are Saudi, Iran and few Arab countries along with Taiwan, Japan and Singapore where cultural values are given importance, alcohol abuse is checked, drugs dealers are given death penalty and family values are promoted. Death penalty is must but important is it must be given on time than keeping those criminals which cannot be reformed under trial.

India needs to get rid of western democracy quickly, before it gets late.
