The move to impeach the CJI is aimed at rendering him dysfunctional. He is to retire in October this year, and there are some politically sensitive cases before him, awaiting judgment. He is perceived to be an independent judge. And that is a great danger for people who are in the business of dishonesty.
Shri. Harish Salve explained the consequence of this impeachment motion. Whether the motion is carried or not, the judge can be effectively stalled from performing his duties. The Congress is fully aware of this, and it doesn't have the number in parliament to see the motion is carried. But the goal is to disable the CJI.
If the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha admits the motion, it will be referred to a Committee. The Committee will take its own sweet time, which will not be until after October this year, when the CJI retires. In the meantime the CJI's position becomes untenable.
If the Chairman of the RS refuses to admit the motion, Congress can file a writ petition in the SC, and the CJ will naturally have to recuse himself. So, either way the Congress will have its way. And that is the whole idea.
Only the most crooked brains can come up with a devious plan like this. Should we admire such crookedness, or encourage it? This crookedness has been at play all along. We can't let adharma and untruth rule us.

others for corruption. These are those people who blindly indulged in corruption during UPA regime and looted the country shamelessly. Now they are accusing CJI, when failed to continue in their schemes. We should peep through the past of their darling Chelemeshwar too. who did not hesitate to wash his dirty linen in public view by accusing his senior and lost all his grace. Next day he met D.Raja , the Communist leader to chalk out further programme. All accusitions are childish in first reading.
