Yes, but not merely "backward".

Any one who supports CaBaRet - Caste Based Reservation, is a PARASITE who prefers to remain a parasite forever.

@pramod sarkar:

I fail to see your logic.

I may or may not prefer to marry my daughter across caste lines.

How does that justify CaBaRet -- Caste Based Reservation ?

Here, we are talking about fundamental right of equality of opportunity, and you are talking about discretionary preferences that one parent or one daughter may have in choosing life partner !!

Where is the logical connection ?

How does my preference or my daughter's preference in marriage give you the right to grab my opportunities in education, employment, promotion, subsidies, etc?

The Utter Failure and Fallacy of CaBaRet
by Chaitanya on Apr 16, 2018 09:55 AM  | Hide replies

CaBaRet - Caste Based Reservation -- makes two claims in its favor:

--1--It claims that I should give up my equality of opportunity to another guy, simply because he claims that somebody's ancestors belonging to my caste, oppressed somebody else's ancestors belonging to his caste, x decades ago or y centuries ago.

--2--It claims that it will remove caste-based alienation from social interactions.

The first claim is utterly ridiculous, illogical, and untenable. Why should I give up my fundamental rights of equality of opportunity, on such a ridiculous claim that has nothing to do directly with me ?

The second claim is also false -- COMMON SENSE tells us that CaBaRet will only perpetuate caste-based alienation in society, and HARD EVIDENCE of these past 7 decades proves this failure. Not just in one state or region -- but all over India -- tiny flashes of inter-caste friendships or other social interactions that you may see now and then -- have happened DESPITE CaBaRet, and not DUE TO CaBaRet !!

CaBaRet is a huge mistake -- a huge crime -- it's retrograde -- it's a violation of fundamental rights on ridiculous grounds -- and it has gone on for enough decades.

Time to get rid of this.

Please demand to know from every politician who knocks on your door for votes --
--"What is you plan and timetable to get rid of CaBaRet" ?

My own schooling of 15 years -- in which I made at least 100 friends -- was blissfully pristine.

I can proudly claim that in those 15 years, there was NOT ONE, yes NOT EVEN ONE, incident in which we school students ganged up along caste lines or even spoke about each others' caste !! Our friendships at school were angelically pure -- and crossed barriers or religion, language, and caste. I PROUDLY SWEAR by the truth of this statement.

And that school education was thankfully free from this curse of CaBaRet - Caste Based Reservation.

That's some CONCRETE proof that CaBaRet is completely DISCONNECTED from its PURPORTED goal of eradicating caste-based alienation in social interactions.

BTW, those 15 years, of my schooling, were from exactly the same state that this author is talking about !

To some extent you are right. In Indian society, the caste based discrimination has been prevalent. But these days it is getting reduced rapidly.
Unfortunate, even after seven decades of independence, we are struggling with this..
Education based on values the solution.
Encourage education among backwards, they will grow in one or next generation.

Yesterday it was religion,. Today it is caste
by auryas on Apr 16, 2018 09:35 AM

If you are a caste conscience, imbecile suffering from inferiority complex, that does not mean whole INDIAN SOCIETY is like you . Not every one like you.
Amazes where these trash heads come from ? These are teachers who make future citizens of India ? It is a shame on us.

This is second in a series of idiotic accounts. Yesterday another imbecile talked at length about religion.

Why do these people GENERALIZE things ?

Is it a disease these guys suffer from ? They want every one to subscribe to this sh^t ?
