When he was the fin min he expanded TDS ( Income tax ) regime.Thus all of a sudden all senior citizens suffered TDS on whatever bank interest they got and they had to run from pillar to post and from clerks to various authorities to claim their rightful refund.After protests for 2 years some exemption was given in the next budget.Thus he enriched the treasury at the cost of disabled/senior citizens.How can one term him "eminent economist".There were other flaws also aimed at enriching the rich,mighty and foreigners.

He governed for 10 years, could not finish reservation-blot on democracy, could not erase poverty, could not control population, could not control minority appeasement. All divisive policies were played by congress only. No use of talking now at 90, spent force should keep mum after doing all such democratic crimes.

True ,Congress is the mother of divisive policies.To remain ever in Power they coined secular parties vs communal.During Cong. rule we had become the country that called our National Currency -banks asset is only national currency-of the bank , as Non performing Asset. Salute our Economics. The income share of India’s top 1% rose from approximately 6% in 1982 -1983 to above 10% a decade later and then to 15% in 2000 and further still around by 23% by 2014 as said in the research report of Chancel and Piketty's .Instead of hearing scholarly pronouncements on this we are saddled with division subtraction Alas!
