Pollution in Delhi
by Martin Pereira on Apr 06, 2018 07:34 PM

It appears like wishful thinking without scientific proof so such huge waste of wood and food should be discouraged. But on the other hand as it is a matter of faith, so environment dept. should look into it and if proved success, it can be a boon for more polluted areas like Delhi.

Whether Yagnas can purify air and improve air quality or not but it is surely a mode of prayer to Gods to save the earth from pollution. A prayer for others. A prayer for benefit of mankind. And faith moves the mountains. What a mockery of faith this biased author has made to flaunt his intelligence. If there is no proof that yagnas can purify air, there is also no proof that it can't. How someone raise fingers on faith. I challenge the author to criticize Bakrid where lac of cattle r sacrificed and gallons of water is wasted to clean the areas. Does it not contribute to pollution? But no, they will target only Hindus and their practices. If you are such a audacious author criticize Religion of peace once in public..!! Got Guts...??

disgrace to Hinduism

These are the type of people my faith has today. Blind beliefs in rituals, and no scientific outlook whatsoever. I can see why Hinduism has declined in India over the last couple of centuries. Who can blame us if such people want to waste their money and efforts in practices that dont hold relevance in todays world. He could have instead campaigned for a cleaner and greener society, pushing for compulsary education in all schools and colleges to ensure atleast the next gen has better sense.

Can mahayagyas fight air pollution?

It is believe it or not. No statistical estimates of ozone layer increase or decrease is possible at such events. Instead of mahayagnys, mahayagnys to plant more trees in the visinity or available land will surely produce good results in a few years time. The organizers should make sure that the plantation survives. In yagnys lots of wood is burnt but in plantation yagnyas opposite will happen. Let us think good sense prevails.

Change the word" instead of mahayagya" ... use the word "along with mahayagya"
