72 years person was jailed for 2 years....punishment is for offence committed... a rapist agrees to marry victim does not exhonerate him from offence... punishment awarded 5 years is very high...
the punishment should have been like a constrctive one like Salman is asked to adopt some 50animals and spend for their population growth..Instead of keeping him n jail let him stay in the open in a hut by taking care of the animals at last 3 days a week .it would have been a constructive punishment .
Wonder why he was given 5 years imprisonment at government’s expense. It would have been better had the jail term reduced to one or two years along with a hefty penalty say 50 lakhs which could have been used for better upkeep of jails.
I have nothing personal with Salman. But a few Atmas will get solace. Salman Khan had run over a group of persons who were sleeping in front of a suburban bakery on the pavement on 28 September, 2002. One person was killed and four others were injured. On May 2,2010 a court held Salman prima facie guilty of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and rejected his plea to drop the charge before framing charges against him. A chemical analyst who had tested his blood had told a court in May 2010 that Salman was under the influence of alcohol when he had the accident. The test found 62 mg of alcohol in his blood. Salman Khan's police bodyguard Ravindra Patil had deposed saying that Salman was at the wheel and he was drunk. He further said he had asked the actor not to drink that night as it may prove dangerous while driving but Salman did not pay heed to his advice. He subsequently changed his statement and was declared a hostile witness by the prosecution. Patil was also suspended from the police force. Patil later died of tuberculosis.
