Thank you for informing his travel bill . Its really low for a PM of a 1.4 billion strong nation.
Now that you have mentioned this expense, can you please list out the benefits that India got after Modi started travelling ?
Some benefits can be listed
1. Better defence supply for the same money ( the corrupted congress swallowed quite a bit there)
2. Direct advantage on funding for infrastructure and other projects.
3. The financial rating of our dear country
4. NEw international friends which has benefited India tremendously
5.Transfer of newer technologies
6. Make in India - how collaborations have helped our financial strength
7. The voice of power and influence in the World
8. Sidelining of PAkistan by powers that matter
9.Technology transfer

...I can go on and on
SO REDIFF .... please spell out the benefits and let our countrymen know

We don't care what his expenses. Now that you have given the expenses, could you give us an hypothetical sum of what it would have cost for Manmohan Singh? Also, remember first MMS should be have been able to undertake such tight schedules. So before giving the sum, also let us know how many days and how many hotels he would have stayed if he were to visit the same countries of a trip as Modi did.

Many here most likely think that Modi is wasting money This is narrow thinking. Modi is not doing this to enjoy trips with his wife and family members. He is developing closer relations and minimizing misunderstandings with other countries and incidentally trying to make them think mutually beneficial trade understandings and stategic understandings. By this way, if you spend one Rupee, you will get in return 5 Rupees. Please note that what he is doing is for the country which had 8.7 Trillion dollars as its GDP in 2016-2017 in PPP terms. When he has to deal with such a huge amount so that it developes the country, this type of travellings are necessary. He can not achieve anything by sitting comfortably in DELHI. It is not that he enjoys there. It is also strainful for him who normally sleeps only for 4 hours per day.

The people who write article about foreign trips of Modi should better give comparison by showing the expenses spent by earlier PM, how many people travelled with them, how many Aircrafts kept as a stand by etc. One can write anything about PM Modi's foreign trip expenses but no one has any right to question the same as all trips were not leisure trips but was as a part of his duties as PM of this country. why this people also write about frequent foreign visits of Rahul Gandhi some time without even his security cover and the purpose of his visits ? When he was away for nearly two months, none of his party's senior members even knew about his where about.

When seen in isolation things look bigger. It is sad that indian PM have not visited many of the counties with which we have commercial and strategic relations. I would conside Mr Devegowdas visit to a foreign country with his whole family ( of poor farmer ) is more expensive as i did not produce a single paise return.

Ms Mukherjee, I can assure you that every Rupee spent on Modi's Trips must have been fruitful and worthwhile. This report is totally incomplete. You should give a comparitive study with that of his predecessors. It shows that your reporting is totally biased.
